In December we will be reading If Not Now, When? by Primo Levi for our War & Travel category - who's in?

Leslie | 904 comments I have borrowed a copy from Open Library so I guess I am in.

Bryan--The Bee’s Knees (theindefatigablebertmcguinn) | 566 comments If I run across a copy of this when I get home, I may try to shoe-horn it in, but more than likely I'll be out of this one too

Phil (lanark) | 634 comments I’m in, after White Noise and another volume of Count of Monte Cristo.

Leslie | 904 comments I have started - I'm reading the William Weaver translation. I was a bit taken aback by the fact that the main characters are Russian; I expected them to be Italian.

I was a little worried that this book would be very depressing. After all, it's a book about WW2 written by someone who experienced the concentration camps! However, it hasn't been too bleak so far (I have only read the first 3 chapters).

message 6: by Marilyn (new)

Marilyn I want to read this but it won't be this month.

Leslie | 904 comments I am almost done - I am finding this look at life as a Jewish partisan in Eastern Europe fascinating. I guess that I have never considered the dilemma of a Russian Jew - whether he is a Jewish Russian or a Russian Jew - before, nor the complexity of that question.

Phil (lanark) | 634 comments So I'm finding this an interesting read, but hard to get engrossed in, consequently I'm approaching the lady 3 days of my Open Library loan and still have 90 pages to read.
