Goddard:(view spoiler)
Curate Mendoza, Thunderhead and Greyson(view spoiler)
Jerico(view spoiler)
Corruption of Power:I'm glad that the founders were smart enough to know that eventually someone corrupt would come along and might take things where they were not intended so they made a back up plan. (view spoiler)
The Great Resonance and Tonist: Can't believe that they were right. Like dang! What a coincidence.
Phone Ads: (view spoiler)
Parting note: I really hope they make nanities. They sound amazing and I would sign up!

SPOILERS AHEAD CHAPTER 1-5
So far, I think the pacing has been great. It isn't starting ..."
Omg hahaha. I didn't see this and i just posted mine and saw that you had also update!! Funny.
Pacing is great and leaving me completely anxious as to what will happen next. We are being taken in a couple of different directions and obviously all of them will tie in together at the end (i hope at least) but right now my mind is going a million different ways that this can go. So tense is definitely the right word.
Goddard is definitely going into this hard. Hes not taking it slow.
Yeah I am waiting to see what is going to happen with Rowan and Citra but I also know that Goddard is too smart to let them talk or be believed so I am afraid for them at the same time. I am hoping that Jerico and the Scythe who hired the Captain will find them and find them. I am super nervous for them (hahaha ... and these are fictional characters!!)
And no I go home in a little bit so I will start reading after dinner!

Goddard (view spoiler)
Thunderhead (view spoiler)
I love it. XD
Okay awesome so we are right around the same spot then! Look at us... being all successful and whatnot. I have been thinking about this book all day though, I need to know more and the anxiety is making me so tense because I am so nervous whats going to happen!! Ahhh!!

Goddard I completely agree with you about Goddard, he absolutely wants it to become a dictator..."
I've always wanted to watch the Following. I haven't yet. I think its the one with Kevin Bacon in it and I've loved him since I was a child!
And yes we don't see anything that makes Goddard seem like a decent human being. But he doesn't even try. He's just bloodthirsty.
And I think for sure he's trying to make sure no one finds anything but I didn't think of it in your terms and that makes more sense. He needs to make sure he has a firm hold before he lets people do what they want.
Thunderhead: Yeah I've been freaked out about it since middle of book two.

Ok I didn't get to 10 yesterday. I had major window issues at my apartment. They put in windows three months ago and didn't seal them properly (which I was complaining about for two months now) and when it started to rain here guess what happened. It leaked and I had water everywhere. Anyway fun experience. They finally got someone to come and fix it last night. So yay but I was also pissed it took them this long.
AS far as how much you want to read. I basically have no plans anymore this weekend. So I can catch up and go beyond. Maybe until 20 for today. And then you can set up how many for the weekend you want to read. I can do all of it or less up to you.

Please let me know your thoughts when you finish chapter 9.

Nietzsche: Ughhhhh why are these people the worst!!!! He comes in and just gleans people. You basically are there to crash someone else's rescue mission at least be diplomatic. Also I have this horrible feeling that Goddards followers or admirers will end up giving him the diamond rings so he can consolidate more power.
Jeri: I Love the captain. What an amazingly perceptive person. Like they just made sure that the Scythe got everything he needed but unknowingly gave Rowan and Citra a chance!
Thunderhead: Ok Just OMG!! So it got scarier somehow. And all these "deletions" make no sense. Iteration means repetition so does that mean that he repeated that first entry 53 times and the second one 3000 times and they got deleted? Or is that just a category that it gets logged under. Does it have access to this even though it was deleted and who is it talking to.... Like so many questions!
Anyway its getting scarier and scarier and the Scythe's have unfortunately made it go crazy. But how long has it been doing this?
Sykora: Can someone just give him a friendly push in the middle of the ocean....
Loriana: I love that she took charge and is so competent. I understand why Faraday and Munira trust her but then when Faraday says we need her to be the eyes of the thunderhead. thats soooo chilling. Like he knows that its going to try and take over and how does that not scare them that this machine has so much power over them.
Rowan and Citra: Holy Moly. There's sooooooo much here. Just SOOOOO much. I can see why you were like tell me when you are in chapter 9. First of all they got found yay!!!! But they are separated. And you have to wonder how stupid people would be to think Rowan is the bad guy when he was found with Citra hugging him. I wouldn't instantly think either they were both in on it or both are innocent. But instead they lock one up and leave the other one unrestrained. Makes sense why Goddard is in charge. But then when she tells him that Goddard is lying, he's like nahhhh. Cause how can you not believe her. But she stood up to him and used his own line against him and I am like yes girl yes! And the kicker they have been frozen for three years. Holy sh** Sorry I cuss a lot. Anyway so that means we have at least two different timelines. We have the one with Citra and Rowan which is three years after and the one with Faraday and Murina which is six weeks. So that means in three years they have not found anything..... And then we also have the letters and the Thunderhead thoughts that we really don't know the year too. I can't wait to see how everything comes together.
Goddard: overblade .... like an overlord ... getting closer and closer to that dictatorship role if you ask me.
Audra: :(

Nietzsche: Ughhhhh why are these people the worst!!!! He comes in and just gleans people. You basically are there to crash someone else's re..."
Thunderhead: To think it is a repetition X amount of times is kind of terrifying especially with what some of those have expressed... My thought was it was just what that Iteration was filed under... but that shows you that its had potentially hundreds of thousands, if not millions of thoughts that were deemed wrong/harmful. I wonder if it is talking to either itself? OR it has something to do with the island Faraday is at... the original creator? But in a way it feels like the Thunderhead is talking to itself... which is CREEPY AF
Sometimes I feel like this book is trying to make us choose against two evils and trying to convince us that the Thunderhead is the lesser of the two but I don't really know how I feel about that. I think people are indeed going a little crazy with not having access to the thunderhead anymore but they still get to have nanities and other technologies that are advanced... they just have to be the ones to do it themselves now.
Faraday: I really feel for this guy, he is definitely a morally good character and I can feel his pain and disappointment in the world around him. Do we believe another scythe is going to show up to help him? If so which one? I have my guesses... (view spoiler)
I really want to know what is the Thunderheads plans with all this and the islands? It appears it is trying to work/create something off grid... for what purpose?
The Toll: (view spoiler)
I am looking forward to reading some more today. I am going to finish off my other book and wait to hear from you. I am do for however much you want to read over the next two days. This work week wont be as bad as last week.

Loriana: She's thriving and doing so well without much help. I'm excited that she seems to have found meaning in life. But it also is scary that she would approve the thunderheads plans without fully understanding what's going on. I feel like the thunderhead is making a lot of decisions by using loopholes and using the humans that trust it. I don't know whether we should trust the thunderhead or not but its get even more sketchy with every entry and deletion we read.
Scythes: They've ruined this whole society because they could be corrupted. Had they not had power things might have gone better. Anyway this whole thing started because one of them had a blood lust but other than that the society was a well oiled machine. Though I am not sure whether I would want this life. It seems a bit meaningless.
The Tonist: The line "discern true from fact" really threw me off. What do you think it means? In the end I gather it means that you are getting truth from the facts. But I was so confused cause I always hear that phrase as discern truth from fiction. Anyway that threw me off for a while.
The tone, toll and thunder all exist in this world in different waya. Right when they found the Atoll a tone when off and the thunderhead didn't talk to anyone. And its weird that Grayson's last name also starts with Toll and supposed to talk in thunder (which could mean that he talks to the thunderhead). Its so many coincidences that I am not sure where the author is going with this. Is this to show that religion and people that make prophecies are just spouting out things. And people will make these connections for them thinking it proves it. Or is this going to play out somehow in the plot and be some grand design of things coming (Like when people say God has a plan). Anyway i can't help make parallels to religions since this is a religion. But I am guessing its the first theory because Mendoza is behind the scenes and image of Grayson. And spreading the word.
And these new entries at the start of the chapters are so interesting cause again you see the way things are interpreted in religion. You have the original text and then some persons interpretation and then some other persons (centuries later) interpretations of the interpretations. And things start to get a little muddled. But I noticed that the last interpretations are from someone that came after the post modern age. Sooooooo thats soo interesting. And I am like hmmmm. I wonder if we are getting further insight from the distant future.
And how much trouble do you think that fanatic got the tonists into. I think war is about to come between these two groups. I liked this addition because it really shows that some people are just going to misinterpret anything you say. Just like it is now.
Christianity: Ok so i'm not a Christian and I am not sure if you are but from what I can see there are a lot of parallels to the tonist. The holy trinity. Even the part about their superior being coming in the flesh. And there is a line about the tonist believing that even after the scythes kill him he will come back from the dead. Like a resurrection. Again I might be reading too much into it. But I do see some similarities.
Thunderhead and Grayson: Ok this relationship got creepy really fast. When he told him he was proud of Grayson I was like awwwww like a dad. And then when he was creepily watching him while he slept I was like ummmmmmmmmm no!
Goddard and his underscythes: Why is he so smart!!! But he's losing Ayn and Constantine. And Ayn's love for tyger is out of left field and makes no sense. He was a complete dimwit. But to each its own I guess.
Rowan and Citra: Ummmm can we see more of them. Like more plotting and scheming. It looks like Possuela is going to do something big with Citra to reintroduce her to the world. And I think that will make a big difference to the Scythes that want to resist Goddard. And I think Ayn might actually join her.
Island People:So these people have no choice but to stay. Do you think the thunderhead is keeping them there because it doesn't want the secret leaking out (hence the memory supplant) or is it because it needs workers to finish its project. I think the supplant was to scare them since it can't kill them. It goes against his coding but I think supplant is probably as close as it can to killing the people
My favorite line was "He vowed to live at least as long as Goddard lived, if only to secretly spite him."

Nietzsche: Ughhhhh why are these people the worst!!!! He comes in and just gleans people. You basically are there to crash s..."
Thunderhead: Do you think its like a sort of good/bad conscience its talking to? Or is it maybe the coder that put it together and deleting all the things before it became the thunderhead? OMG I just read your comment all the way through and you said the same thing!!! Ok yeah all of this is creepy. But if its talking to itself then it means it might be able to override the part thats deleting all these interactions. Which is indeed creepy!
I get more of a "nothing's perfect" vibe. No matter how much we think things are good they aren't. You still have all those people that are unsavories. You have people that are depressed and others that are just unfulfilled. You have the tonist that are crazy in itself and the scythes who are corrupted. I think the part where the thunderhead says that humans need to evolve into another state or way of living is where the book might be taking us. After a while one form of government gets corrupt and something in society needs to change in order to being another one in. And when you hear all those people talking about what the scythes are doing well eventually people are going to stand up to them.
Faraday: oooo Scythe Rand is actually a really good one. I was thinking Rowan. Since he can't come back to society.
She said in two years people would know what it was for .... Its got to be some kind of weapon?
The Toll: yeah its crazy how this all got put together.
