2025 Reading Challenge discussion

Hi all, and welcome to my personal reading nook for 2020. I've participated in, and completed, many reading challenges on Goodreads since 2003, but in recent years life has just seemed to get in the way of any decent amount of reading.

Earlier today I updated my library file with books I've acquired during December and was horrified to calculate that if I read 50 books a year it will take me 21.8 years to read through the TBR piles languishing on bookshelves around my home. Oh, the siren call of the second-hand bookshop! So, considering that I only managed 20 books in 2019, I really need to up my game.

Therefore, I am going to start off by setting myself a simple, fairly achievable (and non-intimidating) goal for 2020, and hopefully upgrade it as the months go along, and I get back into the routine of making time to read again:

I've now started my first book of 2021, but I think that's me done for 2020! I'm quite pleased that I beat my goals convincingly this year considering The Weirdness, so I've set my goals for 2021 a little higher.
