Captivated by You discussion

Can someone please summarize the Russian Mob story line in this series because I am a little confused. I'm in the process of reading "Captivated By You" and I've reached the part where Eva had a conversation with the female police detective.

If I am understanding correctly, Gideon killed Nathan and someone helped him to cover it up. (Possibly Angus and/or Clancy <--who's brother may or not be FBI) But I still don't understand what any of this has to do with the mob.

I just finished the book today, and I'm just as confused as you are about that subject point.

Gideon killed Nathan. Clancy took the sapphire bracelet Nathan always wore off Nathan's dead body and put it on Russian mobster A along with surveillance photos of Eva. Russian mobster A was believed to have been hired by Nathan to abduct Eva for human trafficking purposes. Shortly after Nathan's murder, Russian mobster A was killed by Russian mobster B, with this murder caught on film.

Clancy apparently has some evidence of Gideon's guilt that he is keeping in the case that Gideon turns out to be a bad husband. But otherwise, Nathan's murder is unprosecutable because the primary suspect is dead, and the existence of the Russian mobster A as a suspect creates enough reasonable doubt that Gideon could never be successfully prosecuted.
