Early in the book, when Tegan is recollecting some of her journey (about pg 27 in my book), an old man asks Tegan, "....Are you just a store cupboard for all that you have learned, or have you become all that you have learned?"
I love this question.
Are there ways in your life that you have actually become the lessons that your experiences have taught you?

Abi | 1 comments That is certainly an interesting question. I suppose at a certain point you do "become" the lessons you are taught, because they shape your future actions unconsciously. As a young child my mother always read to me, and instilled in me the importance of reading and perfectionism (usually as it pertained to my studies). To this day I still carry those principles with me, and continue to be an avid reader and extremely fussy over my grades!

I love this- it can be so interesting to look at our lives and see how we've "become" all we've learned.
