Steph (angel4492) | 32708 comments A group at Tor.com discussed 2010-2019: A Decade of Change in Science Fiction & Fantasy, which got me wondering what y'all think of the last ten years of books.

Did you stumble onto any odd genres? Have a favorite new-to-the-decade genre? What's your prediction for the coming decade? Any trends you see rising that you hope will/won't continue in the New Year?

Valerie ~ Val Hall ~ | 9662 comments Out of the 74 books in the article....I only read 9. Not a great number.

My biggest problem is that I already have a lot of series started....and i can't keep up with the ones I have. I know I'm missing out of a lot of great books/series and should learn to quit series that go nowhere.

Steph (angel4492) | 32708 comments I'm the same, Val. I'm always on the hunt for something new, but my priority is on those series I'm already reading.

You're welcome, kittykat :)

That's why I mostly wait until a series is complete so I can binge read from start to finish!

Valerie ~ Val Hall ~ | 9662 comments That’s a good strategy to read a series only once it’s finished unless it’s a series that has 20-40 books published with no end in sight.

kittykat AKA Ms. Tortitude | 376 comments That whole 'no end I sight' is something I have little patience for TBH. As much as I like some characters/worlds, I like to know there is an end to their stories.

Sandra | 25910 comments I'd rather keep reading "In Death" than know there is an end in sight!

Not surprising Sandra, more series readers seem to think like you than like me lol! No change there for me 😁...

but 50+ books and still going... no thanks! That's Corrie (UK soap opera Coronation Street that's been ongoing since 1960 👀) to me!

Sandra | 25910 comments Nope, nothing like Corrie, thankfully, or I would've run away screaming.
