Its a fantasy book about a poor boy playing a certain musical instrument to earn money and enrol himsef in a school that teaches alchemy among many other things. He sleeps in a room above a bar for free i think. He was a bright student and knows how to find ways to continue studying even when he is poor unlike his rich classmates.
