Play Book Tag discussion

Some of us like memoirs. I like them but I'm pretty selective. I'm not much of a celebrity fan so tend to avoid those. I've read 4 books on this list and there are a few, I hadn't heard of which I would add to my wishlist.

Now that you mention it, History Lessons looks excellent! I also am interested in Becoming, Lab Girl, Just Kids, Wild, and The Argonauts.

I've read Between the World and Me, Born a Crime, and Educated.

Not much of a memoir reader, but I've read 6 on the list, and some of the others may go on my TBR.

Having read 6, I'd say you are more of memoir reader than you thought you were.

I know I don't read many memoirs but I read 2, have 2 more on my TBR.

I definitely put them on TBR. It is the reading them...i much prefer fiction.

LOL It's the fault of PBT - lots of books I never would have picked up if not for this group!

I think of myself as a fiction reader as well, but I have certain nonfiction interest, which also classify as memoir. When I checked, I've read 70 with 30 since 2017:

I listened to half of them and read half of them. I LOVE memoirs. I've listened or read 16 of them this year and I'm listening to Me by Elton John right now.

3 of the 6 above I read or listened to this year but I would have to say my favorite of this year isn't on the list, it's It's a Long Story: My Life by Willie Nelson.

Oh, I love memoirs! Thanks for sharing. I've already read 10 of these, but look forward to investigating the remaining ones. Memoirs might be my favorite genre in terms of the sheer level of interest. I like the intellectual challenges of literary fiction, but memoirs just suck me in and don't let go.

I’ll have to check my list but those were the ones that came to mind immediately.

I love reading memoirs. I've just started, "Born a Crime".

I've read zero of these but Between the World and Me is on my tbr and I am interested in reading Alexander Chee's memoir as well as How We Fight For Our Lives.

I do enjoy memoirs! I would look at the list now but, as we recently established, the GR app is crap and I am away from my computer.
