message 5: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Rose (natalieerrose) Yes please! ^_^_

message 6: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Rose (natalieerrose) Tylia stumbled out of the city, glad to be rid of the horrible place. She shivers and pulls her thin cloak tighter around herself as she trudges on through the night. Tylia had to keep going, she had to stay one step ahead of the Nazis if she wanted to survive. After what seemed like hours to the half-frozen girl, Tylia saw a flicker of light ahead of her. She tried to move towards it when she suddenly collapsed, the cold reaching her completely.

message 7: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Rose (natalieerrose) Tylia closer to death than it seemed when the man found her. As she lay resting, still shivering from outside, the blue in her lips began to fade, and her cheeks began to regain some color. She was very thin, and was covered in healing cuts and bruises from her escape. It was a miracle she was alive at all.

message 8: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Rose (natalieerrose) As he brushed her hair, Tylia began to wake. She mumbled something in her sleep, the words unintelligible. Tylia shifts, and on her neck is a Jewish symbol that is tarnished with dirt.

message 9: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Rose (natalieerrose) Soon after the boy left, Tylia awoke. She laid there with her eyes closed for a few minutes, until everything that had happened came rushing back. She bolted up in the bed, the warm blankets falling down around her.

"Where am I..." She whispers faintly, her voice weak and trembling.

message 10: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Rose (natalieerrose) Tylia gasped at the sight of another person. She stumbled backwards, landing on the bed. Her eyes were wide and filled with the fear that she had been found again, and would soon be returned to a camp.

message 11: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Rose (natalieerrose) "Your... Highness...?" She asked slowly. She understood German very well, but speaking it was a whole other problem. Tylia bit her bottom lip nervously, swallowing hard. The man had said that he wouldn't hurt her, but he still looked like many of the soldiers she had seen.

message 12: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Rose (natalieerrose) "I... I do not understand." Her voice trembles with some tears she was holding back. She pulled her knees to her chest, shivering a bit. "You are German. I am not."

message 13: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Rose (natalieerrose) "Yes..." She nods quietly, eyeing the room. She was looking for wscape, already thinking she would need it.

message 14: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Rose (natalieerrose) "Yes. I assumed that everyone had names." She responds, not quite grasping what he was asking. Her nervous eyes flick towards the window.

message 15: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Rose (natalieerrose) "Family has been killed." She responds in her broken voice. She doesn't stop looking for other possible ways of escape, however, still frightened by what is happening.

message 16: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Rose (natalieerrose) Tylia didn't understand half of the words he said. The man was speaking much too fast for her to understand. After he left the room, she tried to walk out. However, she was too weak to do much walking, and she didn't even reach the main room before falling to the ground in pain. As she fell, she cried out in Hebrew, then slipped into darkness.

message 17: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Rose (natalieerrose) When Tylia woke again, she lay there silently. She was too weak to escape, she knew that now. Despite the mans reassurances, Tylia still had that feeling of dread that she would soon be returned to the camps, and started to cry softly. She felt so weak and abandoned.

message 18: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Rose (natalieerrose) Tylia looked up at the man, her knees hugged to her chest. "You cannot be Jewish and live so freely in this world." She responds, thinking it was some sort of trick. Her voice breaks from hidden tears. "If you are Jewish in this world, you are enslaved, killed, or on the run."

message 19: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Rose (natalieerrose) "I am not a child. And I did not come from the cities. You can hardly be Jewish if you think I come from the cities." Her mind was sluggish, and she did not realize the war had not yet reached this land. Her face was a mask of pure fear.

message 20: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Rose (natalieerrose) Tylia swallowed hard at the sight of the meal, and finds an urge to trust them. However, the last person she trusted betrayed her to the Nazi's. "I'm not hungry." She forces the words out, hating that she said them.

message 21: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Rose (natalieerrose) When he turns back there are tears in Tylia's eyes. "Either way I shall be killed." She forces out before collapsing into tears. She felt quite broken at the moment, so helpless and weak. Tylia still believed that these men were Nazis, here to hurt her, to kill her, all for being Jewish.

message 22: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Rose (natalieerrose) Tylia sucked in a breath when she heard the gunshot, and wondered who had been killed, then began to wonder if it was her fault. She ripped off her necklace and his it in the bedding above her, even though she had once sworn she would never take it off.
"I am sorry, Mama..." She thinks to herself as the necklace disappears from view.

message 23: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Rose (natalieerrose) Tylia was crying softly under the bed. She didn't know that the men were gone, that she was safe at the moment. Tylia still thought she was going to be killed- or worse, taken back to a camp. She shook with fear, just waiting for when a soldier would peer under the bed and find her.

message 24: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Rose (natalieerrose) "They're gone?" Tylia doesn't answer his question, only asks one of her own with her broken and terrified voice. She was curled into an tight ball and a few tears fell down her face. Hope had lit in her eyes when the man had found her. Despite her wariness, she trusted him, at least more than the soldiers.

message 25: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Rose (natalieerrose) "I have to go..." She mumbles in German, crawling out from under the bed and standing. She looked up at the man, her haunted eyes meeting his. The pain in the green eyes made sense now, considering all she had seen. She grabbed the necklace from under the bed and tucked it into her pocket.

message 26: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Rose (natalieerrose) Tylia fearfully tugged her wrists away, her breathing shaky. "They will kill you if I stay." She responds in her broken voice. Tylia takes a few steps backwards towards the door, knowing the man would be in great danger if she remained in his home.

message 27: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Rose (natalieerrose) "No..." She protests weakly. "I must go. I must keep running. They killed my mother, my father, my brother, and they will kill me too. I can never be free, I see that now. But I can save you from them, keep you free." She backs up even further. There are tears glistening in her eyes.

message 28: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Rose (natalieerrose) "They will return, I mustn't stay!" She exclaims softly, her voice breaking with tears that start to fall. She slides to the floor as she begins to cry again.

message 29: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Rose (natalieerrose) Tylia's frail body tensed at first, startled. Slowly, though, she began to relax in his arms. She reached up and clung to the man, still trembling with fear and crying.

message 30: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Rose (natalieerrose) ((Okie! It's 1:30 here, so we're pretty close. I want to apologize for my short responses, though. I'm not very good at being detailed, though I try.))

message 31: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Rose (natalieerrose) ((No, I like the details, I just feel bad for not being able to match it.))

message 32: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Rose (natalieerrose) ((Don't feel bad, I'm usually slower than this, it's just that you're the only one online (or online and responding) so I don't have anything else to do))

message 33: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Rose (natalieerrose) ((I responded....? I can see my response... Um...))

message 34: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Rose (natalieerrose) Tylia sat on the floor, still crying, as she watched the man. She hugged her knees to her chest, her hair falling in a curtain around her face. "If you wish for me to stay," She begins, her voice thick with tears. "Then I will stay."

message 35: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Rose (natalieerrose) Tylia squeezes her eyes shut the second the man leaves. When he returns, she doesn't notice, murmuring a Jewish prayer for the man that had died. Her frail body shook as she sat there.

message 36: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Rose (natalieerrose) Tylia whimpered softly and nodded, already heading towards the bed. She was still so terrified, her pale eyes sneaking a glance at the man.

message 37: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Rose (natalieerrose) Tylia had fallen asleep under the bed, waiting for the man. She was curled up in a tight ball, looking quite broken and haunted.

When she had been still awake, she had wished the man would return soon. Tylia may not trust him completely, but he was was willing to give up his life for hers.

message 38: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Rose (natalieerrose) Tylia gasped and bolted awake, having become a very light sleeper. Her panicked and terrified eyes locked onto the mans. Taking a shaky breath, she blinked back the tears that came when she remembered her current situation.

message 39: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Rose (natalieerrose) Tylia sniffled at the sight of the food, remembering how she had turned it down not so long ago. She hated herself for that now, pushing away such a kind man who was now gone from this world. A few tears fall down Tylia's cheeks as she stares at the bowl.

message 40: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Rose (natalieerrose) ((I'm gonna go to bed now, so I don't kill someone out of tiredness at school tomorrow.))

Tylia sniffles softly, sitting but making no move to eat. "Tylia..." She whispers, her voice breaking as she chokes down a soft sob. Her frail body trembles as she fights down sob after sob.

message 41: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Rose (natalieerrose) Tylia bit her lower lip nervously. She didn't want to be left alone again, she felt weak and open to any Nazi's when she was alone in the house. However, she didn't open her mouth to argue, and nodded quietly.

message 42: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Rose (natalieerrose) Tylia swallows hard and nods. Her hand shook underneath the mans, and tensed at his touch. She was still quite wary of everyone, everything. Her hair fell back in front of her face again, and she let it rest. Hiding from the world, from everyone.

message 43: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Rose (natalieerrose) Half way through the night, Tylia woke with a gasp. She pulled the blankets tightly around herself, shivering as she had been for the past day. She looked around for the man that had saved her. Only seeing darkness, she blinked back some desperate tears, and slid from the bed with the blanket wrapped around herself. She crept to the door and opened it slowly, making no sound. Seeing the man across the hallway through the open door, Tylia relaxed a bit. Not wanting to spend the night alone again, she made herself a nest a few feet away from the man using the blanket she had wrapped around herself. A few minutes later, all settled but hardly warm, Tylia drifted to sleep, much more relaxed when she wasn't alone.

message 44: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Rose (natalieerrose) Tylia looked very stiff. Her skin had seemed to grow paler in the night, mostly because she was sleeping on the floor with a single blanket. Tylia was still shivering, although now it was more from the cold than from the shock.

A few minutes after the man had awoken, Tylia began to rise herself, shifting and mumbling something unintelligible in Hebrew.

message 45: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Rose (natalieerrose) "I didn't have to." She answers tiredly, first in Hebrew then in German as she remembers. "It was my choice." Tylia pulls the blanket tightly around herself, blinking back the tears that came along with remembering.

message 46: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Rose (natalieerrose) Tylia watches with wary eyes for a few minutes, then turns away as she feels tears spilling over. She had used to be so strong, hardly crying at anything. I suppose watching your own family be murdered before your eyes isn't the best confidence booster. Tylia thinks bitterly.

message 47: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Rose (natalieerrose) Tylia visibly gulped. She had finally found a safe heaven, and didn't want to leave it for any amount of time. However, she had too, for more reasons than just one. Slowly, trembling, Tylia stood and nodded once.

message 48: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Rose (natalieerrose) Tylia quickly went to the outhouse then returned to the man's side. She hardly spoke a word, though up close it was quite obvious she was muttering Jewish prayers. She was constantly blinking, trying to keep back the tears held at bay, waiting for a chance to stream down her cheeks.

message 49: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Rose (natalieerrose) Tylia kneeled down and held out her hand. The sheep all crowded around her, eating from her hand happily. A rare smile broke out upon Tylia's face. The sheep surrounded Tylia almost completely, and even though the corn was gone they still kept close to her.

message 50: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Rose (natalieerrose) Tylia shook her head gently and beckoned the sheep closer again. The smallest one climbed onto her lap. Tylia seemed very content, the ghost of a smile resting on her lips as she looked at the sheep, her shivers somewhat lessened by them.
