My first year on Goodreads I set a goal of 12 books, and had read 14 by March, So I just adjusted it accordingly as the year went by. I raised it to 20, and ended the year having read 40-something.
My point is, remember, you can always change your goal to suit your reading throughout the year. And more importantly, remember it's just a number! It doesn't really matter. One book is better than none at all ;)
Since 2017, I always my Goodreads goal to 1 book and just see where the "literary road" takes me.
Good luck with whatever goal you decide to set for yourself. I hope you find some great books along the way :)
I'm torn whether or not to set my total 2019 reads as my 2020 challenge or go higher or lower....
Also I've got to 29 books more by luck than anything else. Do people set a challenge with particular books or books per month or just wing it like me?
