Broke, almost homeless, and recently fired. Those are my official reasons for answering a wanted ad for a skeevy-looking bartender gig.

It went downhill the moment they asked me to do a trial shift instead of an interview—to see if I'd mesh with their "special" clientele. I think that part went great. Their customers were complete dickheads, and I was an asshole right back. That's the definition of fitting in, right?

I expected to get thrown out on my ass. Instead, they… offered me the job?

It turns out this place isn't a bar. It's a guild. And the three cocky guys I drenched with a margarita during my trial? Yeah, they were mages. Either I'm exactly the kind of takes-no-shit bartender this guild needs, or there's a good reason no one else wants to work here.

So what's a broke girl to do? Take the job, of course—with a pay raise.

(view spoiler)[ Well.. I love how mouthy the mc is! Her sassing all the magical beings without realizing how powerful they are was hilarious! I loved when she threw the margarita in Aaron's face and how his buddies reacted!

(view spoiler)[ I like Aaron so much! Him and his buddies are the best part imo. I do love the drama now that the whole guild knows she is human and how she is holding her own (for the most part) against all their attitudes. This is flying by so far! (hide spoiler)]

I was surprised by the reveal of who was behind the attacks. It was a cute story but not 100% sure I will continue with it, at least not immediately. Just didn't click with me for some reason. Hi! I am a bit late with a previous BR. I'll start this one in a few days. Sorry for the delay!

I've finally managed to start this one and so far I am really enjoying it!

(view spoiler)[I already read the first 2 books of the Demonized series and decided to jump into this one before going on since I planned to read it too and I wanted to avoid possible spoilers.
So far I am loving Tori (much mich more than Robin - the MC in the parallel series) and her explosive temper, and I am really curious to get to know more about the 3 wonder boys. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[This book is fantastic! I had so much fun (plus it made some things I had read in Demonized much much clearer).

Compared to Robin, a little subdued, extremely shy and socially awkward, Tori is a force of nature. The storytelling through POV of her was hilarious and the three Aaron, Kai and Ezra were pretty intriguing - each one in his own way and with his fair share of secrets, I guess (btw, my fav is Aaron <3).

That said, now I can't wait to go on reading the adventures of Tori, Aaron, Kai and Ezra.
And yes, this time I will be good and will slavishly respect the reading order of the Guild Codex parallel series suggested by Marie. (hide spoiler)]
