What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

The book that I'm trying to think of takes place in Texas I think. The main character is a girl and she's been dead for 497 or so minutes. And the more minutes you have been dead for, the more emotionless and robotic you are. Basically people are killed and they wake up as soldiers. The main character that's been dead for 497 minutes or so has to train someone who's only been dead for 26 minutes which in the stories case, is a bad thing. The cover of the book if I remember is black, white, and red, and in the middle of the book cover had a bar code in red. And under the bar code it says something like "I was dead for 17 minutes, 497 minutes later I woke up. Or something like that. Sorry if my explanation is all over the place, I'm just going by what I remember.
