Maarit | 240 comments Thanks Pink and Tytti for great alternative suggestions for this square :). I've read one Ousmane book last year (Xala) and it wasn't quite my cup of tea, but I'm willing to give him another chance, since Keltainen kirjasto books are usually quality ones. I'll see if I can easily obtain any of those books and if not then I will use Hemingway.

Tytti | 1010 comments The one I mentioned is also listed in one of those lists of 1001 Books to Read, so I guess it's considered quite important.

I also found most of the books by Egyptian Mahfouz to have an interesting premise, "Miramar" was listed among the 60 best books in Keltainen by Helsingin Sanomat last year (I have a shelf for them, too). But I can't say I have read any of them, I just like to have them listed for whenever I want to read something different and get out of my comfort zone. And like you I know I probably won't be disappointed that often, though of course not everyone is going to like all of them.
