Who's joining in with the December read, Hellsing vol 1? Have you read it before or is it a new title for you?

Kirsten (ringwraith10) | 49 comments I have read it before, but I believe I last read it in high school. I have been intending to re-read the entire series, so I'm glad this group gave me an incentive to go ahead and start with that! I always list it as one of my favorite manga series', but the fact of the matter is I am beginning to forget the plot (and even the characters, probably) since it's been so long...

Kirsten (ringwraith10) | 49 comments Just finished re-reading it. I do remember the first volume pretty well, even though it's been at least ten years since I last read it... but I had forgotten how the artist can get a bit lazy with the character drawings. There are some really funny, wonky looking people in this series (who also occasionally look normal, at least for manga standards). My edition also had a tiny comment on one of the pages about how "Oh no!" everyone seems to be wearing glasses! I was starting to notice that, too.

But I sped right through it and am super excited to re-read the rest of the series! Father Anderson is one of my favorite characters (Walter is my number one favorite character, but he didn't show up much in this volume), and I love seeing him interact with Alucard.

NotQuiteAllHere I just finished it today... I am ralitively new to mangas so I haven't heard of it before... I like the rediculous drawing style hehehe it is fun

Ash | 39 comments Read this almost a year ago, I remember almost all of it, & I also remember instantly falling in love(well, more like lust) with Alucard. It is amusing to see how much the characters looks have changed & become more sophisticated, especially in Hellsing Ultimate. I agree with Kristen in stating how the artist can get lazy when it comes to charaçter drawings. Each volume seems to show a bit less laziness on the artists'part.
One of my favorite manga series ever.

I definitely know where you're coming from -- especially since I was a teen when I started this series. ;P

I still haven't purchased the "Team Alucard" t-shirt that I used to see everywhere, for some reason...

Ash | 39 comments Best. Vampire. Ever. And I'm sure we can both agree there are a lot of sexy vampires out there, but I would drive stakes through all their hearts for a chance with Alucard, lol. I really would like for he & Integra to admit their feelings for one another, they just seem so perfectly together.

Kirsten (ringwraith10) | 49 comments Integra is probably my favorite female character in any manga series. She is seriously more badass than any shuriken-wielding ninja-maiden I've ever seen. But, you know, the main characters can never get together because that would take out all of the romantic/dramatic tension in the story. ;P

Ash | 39 comments Integra is absolutely one of my favorite female characters as well. She is one tough b*#ch, never breaks a sweat, but always remains a complete lady. She was the wallpaper on my tablet and phone for a while. Yes, I am that nerdy that anime/manga characters are usually my screensaver/wallpaper.
Btw, thanks for the friend request, it made me feel good. ;)

Ash | 39 comments I should probably send you a PM so I don't take up to much space on here, not to mention I don't want to bore people to death, lol.

Kirsten (ringwraith10) | 49 comments Meh, we're discussing the Manga. This is our forum to do so. :)

I was going to cosplay as Integra at a con once... long ago... but I wanted to have a real cigar as part of my costume, then figured that it wouldn't be allowed inside the hotel. Also, I really don't like cigars. Hate the smell.
