A book a month sounds reasonable...."

Welcome, Alex :)

Me too! I went through the whole series like a crazy person. I Don't know if I'll be able to hold out and only read one a month.

I'll be joining in for this one too. First time read. I am not sure if I'll continue or not, but definitely in for book 1. I haven't seen the show either. Total newbie.

Liz* Fashionably Late (liz_asterisk) | 23 comments Welcome to the party, Shelly! :D

message 27: by Tanya (new)

Tanya Yay! Hi Shelly :)

✘✘ Sarah ✘✘ (former Nefarious Breeder of Murderous Crustaceans) (oosarahoo) Hey guys, things are kind of complicated right now and I'm not sure I'll be able to join you for this one after all. No, I am NOT chickening out and I promise I'll try to make it so don't hate me just yet:P

✘✘ Sarah ✘✘ (former Nefarious Breeder of Murderous Crustaceans) (oosarahoo) Oh you should talk. I only have one thing to say to you: Filthy Fairy Tales. You chicken.

message 31: by Tanya (new)

Tanya Cluck cluck cluck...

message 33: by [deleted user] (new)

I love that chicken gif. LOL

I can't believe you are bailing on the Outlander read! I only said yes because of you!!! j/k

I've had that thing on my tbr list since I joined.

Argh! Don't say this, you're making me feel even worse! I've been in freak out mode for the past few days and all these BRs are stressing the hell out of me. All my fault, I know o_O And don't laugh because it *is* complicated:P

This BR is my #1 priority so I PROMISE PROMISE PROMISE PROMISE to do my best and tag along okay? Just for you. I'll even consider going without sleeping for a few days so I can make it.

You read mine, I read yours, chicken Sarah ^^

message 37: by [deleted user] (new)

Sarah, no worries, seriously. Reading should never be a chore or cause stress. I was totally joking. Don't even think twice if you can't fit it in. Seriously. It should be fun and when it gets to be too much, that's not fun anymore, right? :D

I'm with you, Shelly. Reading and BRs shouldn't be stressful.

They're meant to be fun, so don't worry, Sarah. We can always force you to read it later :P

✘✘ Sarah ✘✘ (former Nefarious Breeder of Murderous Crustaceans) (oosarahoo) I'll probably be able to make it after all. I might not be able to start reading on Saturday but I'll join you at some point. I'm warning you though: I have very low expectations for this one. I think it's fair to say this is the epitome of comfort zone hell for me:P

Liz - I'm reading your romantic stuff. Will you read my smutty stuff?

message 40: by Ellen (new)

Ellen (EllenChristine) | 22 comments FYI, y'all. I"m in for the goose, gander, chicken et al.

Liz* Fashionably Late (liz_asterisk) | 23 comments Smutty stuff, smutty stuff! D: I used to be a very innocent kid, you know? Why are you trying to pervert me?

SARAH VA A LEER CON NOSOTRAS, ESTOY FELIZ : D

✘✘ Sarah ✘✘ (former Nefarious Breeder of Murderous Crustaceans) (oosarahoo) It's my mission as your father to educate you. I don't understand why you would see it as some kind of perversion. You're a weird kid.

Dios nos ayude, esta chica está complemente loca (por cierto, aquí se dice estar como una cabra)! Dos idiomas! DOS IDIOMAS! DOS IDIOMAS! NOS VAN A HECHAR DE GR!

message 43: by Ellen (new)

Ellen (EllenChristine) | 22 comments um, @oOSarahOo, and @Liz, de que hablan, por favor?

message 44: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm worried it is going to be boring. The books are very long and I think they are very descriptive. I hate reading about every detail from what is in a house to clothes and what kind of trees are in the forest, etc. I hate that stuff. That is my biggest worry about Outlander. I'll fall asleep reading it. I know there are supposedly some controversial things in it, but I don't expect that to be an issue...

message 45: by Ellen (new)

Ellen (EllenChristine) | 22 comments @Sh3lly, as a fanatic about details, the only thing I can say is that some of it will be fascinating and some will make you snooze. But I find that the good thing about a discussion such as this is that we can perhaps ( those of us new to Outlanderverse) delve a bit into DG's mind, and find out about the where, how and when of the characters, et al.

message 46: by NE (new)

NE | 10 comments I couldn't wait, so I read Outlander for the 2nd time since last August. I can't wait to reread this with all of you & hear everyone's insight. Je suis prest!

Liz* Fashionably Late (liz_asterisk) | 23 comments @Ellen, you know you're a badass when you speak in two different languages.

@Shelly, I know what you mean. I get bored too sometimes but I'm used to long books and I think the Outlander journey is quite eventful and Jamie is an amazing character. My biggest concern is actually the controversial scenes. Lets hope you like it as much as I did.

✘✘ Sarah ✘✘ (former Nefarious Breeder of Murderous Crustaceans) (oosarahoo) @Liz: so you're a badass now? Ha! Very funny.

@Ellen: don't mind us, we just have very poor GR etiquette;o;

I'm as concerned as Shelly about this book being boring. And I'm pretty much terrified at the idea of reading romance.

What controversial things are you talking about guys?

Liz* Fashionably Late (liz_asterisk) | 23 comments Don't look at me, Sarah. I won't spoil you a thing.
