To my recall ...in the original photo challenge ...all that was required was to guess the actor's name.
This was because the challenge focused on the most obscure character-actors possible.
The clues were names of other movies he/she had appeared in; but accompanied by more pictures from those other movies, rather than naming the movie titles themselves.
So, if you provide a pic of a famous star there's really no further clues to give.

Update: photo challenge was always a lot of effort to maintain but at the time it was at least possible.
These days most of the sites where I would obtain obscure pictures are gone. Either they lost their funding, lost their ISP host, or they fail security (making them unsafe to browse)..
[No, please don't suggest any sites you happen to know about --the sites must be secret troves which I squirrel away on my own]
Anywayz. I will keep my eyes open for new resources --but without a similar setup as I had before --can't revive the challenge for now.
It needs some serendipity from I-don't-know-where, to return to life.
