Jill Hutchinson (bucs1960) | 3876 comments Does that make #31, Richard Cromwell? Doesn't look like him but Cromwell has a connection with the other two.

message 355: by Feliks, Co-Moderator (new)

Feliks (dzerzhinsky) | 3596 comments Mod
Close, but no. I may just reveal him because he is not all that famous and there's no reason for you to know him. It's Richard Hart. He co-stars with Cooper and McGill in the '47 Lana Turner film, 'Green Dolphin Street'. That was the hidden relationship.

Fresh quiz on the morrow!

message 356: by Betsy (new)

Betsy | 3455 comments Ah, too bad we didn't know he was American since the others were British.

I didn't see that either. Oufff.

message 359: by Mollie (new)

Mollie Harrison Pennock | 91 comments Guy Kibbee?

message 360: by Feliks, Co-Moderator (new)

Feliks (dzerzhinsky) | 3596 comments Mod
Hi Mollie!

Nope no banana. I will say though, that this gentleman is one of those stalwart character actors of the type we have often discussed around here. Just like a Charles Coburn, or a Whit Bissell, or an Ed Begley. He has starred in over 200 movies.

message 361: by Betsy (new)

Betsy | 3455 comments He looks like Hal Smth, but. I question that choice.

Feliks (dzerzhinsky) | 3596 comments Mod
no soap!

This supporting actor is not someone extremely famous; he was in plenty of TV episodes but mostly from the 60s. I can't actually find a major movie he ever appeared in but as I say, he has starred in 200 films. Usually plays fast-talking reporters, bankers, salesmen, and the like. He has also appeared in several Stooges shorts.

I will get some better quizzes going today or tomorrow. Things a little hectic lately.

Jill Hutchinson (bucs1960) | 3876 comments I'm back from suffering from a power outage due to the storms. I need to jump back into the quiz and this guy is really familiar. I may have to think on it a while but I think I can come up with a name.......or not.

message 366: by Jill (new)

Jill Hutchinson (bucs1960) | 3876 comments Don Beddoe?

message 367: by Betsy (last edited Apr 14, 2020 03:21PM) (new)

Betsy | 3455 comments I think you might be right, Jill. Hope so.

message 368: by Jill (new)

Jill Hutchinson (bucs1960) | 3876 comments I think so.....I knew he was Don something and then Beddoe popped into mind. We shall see.

message 369: by Betsy (new)

Betsy | 3455 comments He's been on Perry Mason several times, but he looks heavier in the picture.

'Storms' ...even more chaos heaped on our pile of woe

on the east coast its been rainy, gray, and cold for weeks!

message 373: by Betsy (last edited Apr 15, 2020 07:25AM) (new)

Betsy | 3455 comments Not so obscure on tv, and he was even in 'Cyrano de Bergerac' which is no lightweight movie. Glad Jill could see through the costume and facial hair. ;-)

message 374: by Jill (new)

Jill Hutchinson (bucs1960) | 3876 comments It threw me off for a minute but I recognized that round face finally. It was an atypical photo.

Here's a couple obscure American actresses with lengthy, multi-decade careers in film, stage, and television.

Betsy | 3455 comments #36 - Jean Willes?

Feliks (dzerzhinsky) | 3596 comments Mod
Winning streak! Whew! Yes that's her. The housekeeper on 'My Three Sons'. But she comes from five generations of British actors and is related to Harry Davenport.

message 380: by Betsy (last edited Apr 17, 2020 07:36AM) (new)

Betsy | 3455 comments I recognized her eyes, and Jean Willes has been on 'Perry Mason.'

That's interesting about the relationship to Harry Davenport.

message 381: by Feliks, Co-Moderator (new)

Feliks (dzerzhinsky) | 3596 comments Mod
Jean Willes is unfamiliar to me too; except for the role in 'Body Snatchers'.

Her bio says she was 'one of the three Queens pursuing Clark Gable in the movie Three Queens' or whatever. That's the kind of movie I'm rarely a fan of. It doesn't seem flattering to anyone in it. Technicolor studio westerns like that often seem flat and stale to me. 'Three Violent People' is another one which did not impress.

message 382: by Jill (new)

Jill Hutchinson (bucs1960) | 3876 comments Jean Willes I recognized but lost out on Ann Seymour. Willes had unusual eyes that made her look like a hard character, a part she often played.

message 383: by Betsy (new)

Betsy | 3455 comments That's true, Jill. She often portrayed women who solely looked out for themselves. In the Perry Mason I mentioned, she left a kiss print on her dead boyfriend's forehead, and then tried to frame her best friend for the murder.

message 384: by Feliks, Co-Moderator (new)

Feliks (dzerzhinsky) | 3596 comments Mod
You're both far wiser than I in these matters.

message 385: by Jill (new)

Jill Hutchinson (bucs1960) | 3876 comments It is strange how the names of practically unknown actors can come into your mind when you can't even remember what you did yesterday!!!!! Memory is such a funny thing but it certainly used to come in handy playing Trivial Pursuit!!!!

message 386: by Betsy (new)

Betsy | 3455 comments We are fortunate that so many character actors found jobs in television, and that we can see so many films on television or else we'd be out of luck for seeing them--unless you want to buy quite a few.

message 391: by Jill (new)

Jill Hutchinson (bucs1960) | 3876 comments Bah!!! It looks like Gina Lolabrigida (how in the world do you spell that?) but she is not obscure enough.

message 392: by Feliks, Co-Moderator (new)

Feliks (dzerzhinsky) | 3596 comments Mod
Clues:

#37 is not an American actress nor Italian; but was fairly big in her own nation.

#38 starred in numerous B-Westerns and B-Noirs on 'Poverty Row'

Yes to #41! Spot on.

One of "Elvis' women!" (I sure didn't know that).

But I figured you'd probably guess her without strain.
