The Charlie Davidson series starting with First Grave on the Right has been a boon to my reading funk. It's light and funny.

I thought that was the case, thanks Susan :-)

KimeyDiann | 2174 comments Thanks, Cherie! I'm adding all of those to my TBR.

I've seen the Scott Meyer books on Amazon before, but I always scroll past them thinking they are goofy kids' books.

@Janice, I'm planning on starting a re-read of the Charley Davidson books very soon. But since I already have the first 3 in print, I don't want to pay for the audio versions.

After supper last night I forgot to get back online to try to find a book to start today. I just went with one that was already downloaded on my phone and ready to start when I got in the car this morning... The Paper Magician

Oooh, that looks really good. I've got to see if I can find that one!

I listened to the first one on audiobook. I'm reading the rest on iBooks thanks to a sale. I'm enjoying it quite a bit in print format.

Sarah | 18550 comments I'm pretty sure these questions have been asked but I can't find them so thought I'd quickly check with you Janice - can we use graphic novels? And what is the minimum page number? I've just reserved Joe Hill's graphic novels at the library. I'm not bothered if they don't fit the challenge - I'll read them anyway.

message 757: by Cherie (new)

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments Sarah - yes, you can use graphic novels. No page length requirement that I recall.

Janice (jamasc) | 59964 comments I do believe Cherie is right. Thanks for fielding this Cherie.

Sarah | 18550 comments Thanks guys. It's as I thought. I also forgot that I'd asked a question. :-)

Erica | 182 comments Janice, I have question. I was wondering if I count three books as a series or not. You have probably already answered similar questions before but I am too lazy to read through the whole thread...sorry!
So I was wondering if I count the books Högre än alla himlar, Blå koral and Folk av en främmande stam by Louise Boije af Gennäs. It is a trilogy and it also states that in the description of the books. However, it does not state it in the titles and the introduction is in Swedish so you have to google translate to read it...

I know I've said that it must be listed as a series in Goodreads, but in this one I will make an exception. Go ahead and count it.

Erica | 182 comments Great! Thanks a lot Janice!! :) :)

Kristie | 19193 comments I have a question that hopefully hasn't been asked already. I am reading the Unwind series and was hoping that it would finish up an extra level for me. However, there is a new book coming out December 15th, UnBound. The book is not tagged as the fifth in the series (there is no # assigned), which is labeled as a "dystology." The book is about what happens to the characters afterwards. I'm not sure if it is considered part of the series or not. Do I need to read this book to complete the series or is it completed with UnDivided, which I thought was the ending to the series?

If you finish the last published book before Dec 15th, you can count the series done.

message 765: by Kristie, Moderator (new)

Kristie | 19193 comments I probably won't be able to finish UnDivided before the 15th and I probably won't have time to read UnBound before the end of the year. I may just drop the series for now and focus on other reads, if it considered part of the series. Unless I somehow find more reading time...

I know there are some books that are add-ons (e.g. Fairest), which are part of the series, but not full #s (e.g. Fairest is #3.5) and those don't count. Unbound is a follow-up to the series, so it has no #. I'm just not sure if it is considered part of the series or not, since only the whole numbers count.

message 766: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59964 comments I didn't really look at it all that closely, Kristie. It's a collection of short stories, so likely not going to be assigned #5. Let's say that Undivided is the final book.

Kristie | 19193 comments Thanks, Janice. I couldn't read the summary too closely because I didn't want to spoil the previous books that I haven't read yet. I just knew that it was a follow-up with no number. It makes more sense now that I know it's a book of short stories. I completely missed that. Thanks for the quick decision!

jaxnsmom | 8341 comments I'm stopping the official count here. It's a good point since the last level ended with exactly 100 points.

Levels Finished: 9
Books Read: 92
Series Slain: 11
Longest Level: 5, with 38 books over 5 months

Hang onto those stats, j'mom. You might need them in the wrap up.

Kristie | 19193 comments Nice job, J'mom! I have one more book to finish my current level, then I'm done. I'm not going to finish my level 4. It was only 3 more books, but it was too much pressure for December. So, in order to keep it fun, I'm ending after level 3. :)

message 771: by jaxnsmom (new)

jaxnsmom | 8341 comments That's the way to remember the challenge Kristie - with keeping it fun!

message 772: by jaxnsmom (new)

jaxnsmom | 8341 comments I lied (unknowingly) when I said I was done. I listened to Spider Bones, which catches me up on the Temperence Brennan series, and completes a level. I'm going to update tonight.
