Trike | 11202 comments Official trailer just arrived.

Looks like it could have potential.

My only gripe is the guy from Die Hard 5 playing Kyle Reese. He is way too bulky for a guy who grew up scrabbling and starving in a post-apocalyptic wasteland. I somehow doubt they have time to hit the Malibu Gold's Gym in between Hunter-Killer battles.

But I like the mix of OG Terminator set pieces with new time-travel aspects. The trailer does spoil a couple moments, but no big deal.

Ruth (tilltab) Ashworth | 2218 comments I was talking about this film to a friend earlier, and I think my love of the first film has prejudiced me against this one. This film is a continuation of the series, but seems to completely wipe out the original events, which makes me sad.

It also doesn't look like it is bringing anything new to the series, just rehashing everything that has gone before. And I don't understand why the robot is older. Obviously, I get that the actor has aged, but how would that make sense in the context of the film?

I don't love it.

Trike | 11202 comments The rationale for the older Terminator is that he was sent back to protect Sarah Connor and once the immediate threat was averted, he waited around as her mentor, preparing her for the moment when Reese is sent back. Since his exterior is regular human flesh, it aged normally.

I kind of like the possibilities of merry mix-ups that time travel allows, so I'm not having an immediate negative reaction to this.

Michele | 1154 comments Yes, it looks good as a whole, but I don't think I can take Jai Courtney playing Kyle Reese. Michael Biehn was so perfect to me.

Shane Noble (captainnoble) | 2 comments I'm a bit ambivalent in regards to the story. I'll wait until I see it before I judge it.

However, I will ruthlessly mock the title which is just ridiculously stupid.

I agree. Jai Courtney seems to be the latest incarnation of Sam Worthington. Both Australian starring in Terminator movies....

My dream casting for Reese would be Garrett Hedlund. That guy can do anything.

Kevin | 701 comments I was really determined to not see this film, but the trailer has erased all my concerns regarding the story.

I'm not sold on the casting though, both the looks for Kyle and Sarah Conner aren't exactly what I've grown up with.

Darren I enjoyed the Sarah Connor Chronicles. I tried my best with the McG movie... But that trailer made me cringe.
