Update on msg. 3. To date, I've got 6/11 read. I'm not seeing a lot of hope getting to the other decades by 12/31. Over half got read, so I guess it's not terrible. :)
Message 8 updated -- so far I have 6/11 read and I don't think I'll be able to get to 5 more books before the end of the year, so this might be where I end :)
I guess I'll stop at 8/11 for this challenge. I don't think I'll be able to finish the last three 😂
Msg. 3 update: I got 6/11 read, so no farther than I was on Dec. 2 update. At least I read some books that I'd had for a while and wanted to get to, and it was fun. :)
message 34 update : i got 8/11 for this challenge, so no farther than my first message and it doesn't seem like i will be able to finish this challenge in the next couple days. i'm still pretty happy with my reading so i guess that's the most important :))

You both did great! So long as books were read and removed from your TBR (hell, just removed from the TBR because let's be real most of ours are out of control lol), I consider it a success!
UPDATEDGreat job everyone! I know we didn't have a lot of "winners," but we read, we conquered what we could, and our TBRs are a little less intense! This was a really tough challenge, and I so happy that you all joined me!

This is a low key, annual challenge to celebrate entering into 2020!
If you're like me, all of those 2020 releases have got your eyes wide with excitement, while the back corner of your brain is going "Dude we should probably balance that out with some backlist titles and classics too." Designed to celebrate the new decade and get us reading things published outside this decade, this is perfect for those of us procrastinators who need to read more classics and yet...haven't done that yet.
The goal is to read a book from each decade, starting in 1920 and ending in something published this year for a total of 11 books.
