Nathan survives his injuries but loses his sight. Was his descent into depression predictable? What did you think of his rejection of his team...related to his depression, self pity, out of character or something else/all of that?

I think this would be a normal reaction. And you wouldn't want what you perceive as pity from your friends/family. I think most people would initially withdraw.
