Award winning author Kate Forest has worked in a psychiatric hospital, as a dating coach, and spent a disastrous summer selling above-ground swimming pools. But it was her over twenty-year career as a social worker that compelled her to write love stories with characters you don't typically get to read about. She lives in Philadelphia with her husband, two kids, and a fierce corgi

The last man she should love is the only man she wants.
The future looks bright for Cathy Gold, recent summa cum laude graduate, until her controlling father snatches away her dream job, insisting she marry the nice Jewish boy next door. So, she jumps at the chance for one last taste of freedom as temporary bookkeeper at a Catskills resort.
Thomas Cullen used hard work and Irish charm to escape the factory that maimed him and took his father's life. As manager of the resort, he's working toward his own American dream. He doesn't need the distraction of the strong-willed and brilliant Cathy, but he can't resist the passion that flares when they are together.
The Irish immigrant is the last person Cathy's parents would choose for her, but he's the only man to encourage her ambitions.
They would have a chance at a future together if it weren't for 1948 rules on class, religion, and gender, and a sudden scandal at the resort that threatens them both.
To succeed in love and their American dreams, they must refuse to give up, and be willing to break the rules.

I’m really excited to be part of this month’s fun. I want to giveaway a bunch of books and get to know you all.
I write romance with characters you don’t typically see. Writing is a second career for me, having been a social worked for over twenty-five years. I’m so lucky I have had to chance to pursue two things I love. I have also been fortunate to live in many different cities in the US (NYC, DC, Bay Area CA,) Now, I call Philadelphia home, and it’s a great little big city.
For my first giveaway, I’ll draw three names at random from anyone who answers the following question before Feb 6, 2020.
What do you love most about your hometown/place you live now?
Three winners will get an e-book of my latest release. I’ll gift it through Amz.

I would say, the unpredictable weather; both geographic & political, makes it an exciting time and place to be in.

That sounds intriguing

Thanks all for telling me a bit about your hometowns. Place is so important, it helps define who we are.
I think that’s true of characters in stories. My latest release, A More Perfect Love, is set in the Catskills. The Catskills is a small mountain range in Upstate New York. It was home to many resorts that catered to Jews and others who were barred from traditional country clubs. There were resorts for Irish-Americans and African-Americans. These were wonderful places for families to escape the summer heat of NYC’s cramped tenements.
But there was a dark side to the Catskills. Gangsters found it a great place to smuggle in booze from Canada during Prohibition. And plenty of illegal stills operated there as well.
Which famous gangster is said to have buried treasure in the Catskills, that is still undiscovered today?
(I’ll pick the first two people to answer correctly between now and Feb 10, 2020 to receive an e-book gifted through Amz)
A) Legs Diamond
B) Waxy Gordon
C) Dutch Schultz
D) Lucky Luciano
