John (jfcannon) | 30 comments I have a copy of The Ascent of Science by Brian L. Silver. Amazon.com is the source of this book's information in Goodreads and it lists the publisher as Oxford University Press, USA. The title page of the book itself says A Solomon Press Book/New York Oxford/Oxford University Press/1998, where a forward slash indicates a new line. The page on the other side of the title page contains the line "Published by Oxford University Press, Inc." and another line "p. cm. 'A Solomon Press book.'" The publisher is identified in plain English as Oxford University Press, so what is the significance of the book being "A Solomon Press book?" And with other books where the name of a subsidiary and the name of the parent company are both mentioned, but one is not explicitly stated to be the publisher, which should be listed as the publisher in Goodreads?
