Nan Mykel Hi, group. Books have always been my "transitional object." I have several copies of some books because I love them so much and then see them on a freebie or one-dollar shelf. I'm nervous because I'm about to be delivered of a book and unsure of its reception. I'm 79 and have waited a long time because rejections make me sad. I read mysteries for enjoyment/escape and books about consciousness/free will/etc., for excitement. Examples are "The Brain that Changes Itself" and "User Illusion."

More power to you Nan. Congratulations on your first book, I'm sure you'll be just fine :-)

Nan Mykel Thanks for the vote of support, Anne. Being timid when it comes out doesn't really help the marketing job self-publishers need to do. Oh well, all I dreamed of doing was publishing a book and I've done that. And that is taking me into the world of blogs, an entirely different world with different rules and directions, apparently, which are hidden like in a treasure hunt.

Nan Mykel Oh, when I listed my books I forgot "You Can Go Home Again." Unfortunately I lent it to someone who didn't return it and I can't recall who. I know it was a super 5-star book about connections over the generations of behaviors and traits. Not as sappy as it sounds, but especially interesting are the family trees of famous families with their unfolding histories. Try it, you'll like it!
