Reading Sprints (2015)

This looks really interesting Tahlia, but I don't completely understand. Could you elaborate on the rules a bit? For instance, can I say 20 min before bedtime?

1. Person A wants to do a reading sprint. Therefore Person A posts in this thread.
2. Her/His post would look like this: "Let's do a reading sprint at :30 for 20."
Meaning: Start at half past and read for 20 minutes straight.
To make it a bit easier: Let's assume that it's 9am in your time zone. You would start reading at 9.30am and read for 20 minutes straight. I live in another time zone where it's currently 12pm so I would start at 12.30pm and read for 20 minutes.
3. After those 20 minutes everyone taking part would post in this tread about their progress. This would include Book Title, Pages Read and (maybe) thoughts about the things you just read.
You can't say 20 min before bedtime 'cause everyones bedtime is set differently. Except we would change the rules a bit to make it easier. I think reading sprints are easier done on social medias like tumblr or twitter, but if we would change it to things like "30 min before bedtime" or "15 min during lunch break" it would be easier to do in this group...
I hope this all made sense. :)
Yes, actually. Thanks. I'll bet sprints are a blast over twitter! But, I think you're right; we could adapt for the limitations of this format.

It is a beautiful sunny 80 degree day. I have the afternoon off. It is a perfect day to read on the back deck. I read 31 pages of the The Crucible. This challenge is harder than it looks.

I might be able to put in a 30 minute sprint right after midnight, otherwise I'll be doing it sometime during the late morning my time.

I am amazed that a society controlled by the Church could accuse innocent people and hang them for witchcraft.
Sorry, Cindy. I think it was originally created for a different format. If I anyone has suggestions on how to make the "sprints" work better here, please sing out.

How this Works
1. Find a partner to sprint with.
2. Pick a time to sprint (Please use :10 for 20 = 10 minutes after the hour for 20 minutes, since we are all in different time zones :)
3. Once you finish the sprint, come back and share your progress.
