Elizabeth Rawls (erawls) | 9 comments Hi, I'd like to know if there's a way I can edit or delete some answers I wrote on my author page's Ask the Author? I was new to goodreads and it gave me all these questions to answer, so I thought I had to answer all of them. Now I want to change and delete some, but I can't find a way to edit or delete the answers I wrote...

There could be a button which indicates update profile or an edit button. If there is, then make your amendment/s and save it/them. I hope this helps. :)

Thanks for answering, Paul.
That's the strange thing though. When I go to the editing sections, and even my dashboard, there is no button that will allow me to edit. I've carefully looked just about everywhere I can think of... I'm wondering if Goodreads doesn't allow editing of Ask the Author?

J.R. Tompkins (jrtompkins) | 5 comments Elizabeth,

Go to your Author profile page, then click on the individual question heading you want to edit, then below the answer, you should see a line that says "Like Comment x days ago Edit Delete". Click on Edit or Delete.

It took me a while to find my way around too!

Thank you, J.R.! It worked! I can't believe I never thought to click on the question's heading, haha, I feel dumb ^_^
Thank you so much!

It took me awhile to figure that out too, so I just had to share. Good luck on your upcoming projects! They sounded interesting (even though you said you were going to change your answers).

Haha, thank you! I did tweak a few answers as they didn't quite sound how I wanted them to :) But now I'm happy with it. Thanks for the compliment! I hope the novel series will be both fun and intruiging for readers. That's the goal, anyway :)

Christian Clason (christianclason) | 10 comments I read through this, but I'm still not figuring this out. I messed up the author part, ended up with a typo in the sentence I replaced "[author's name] is taking questions now" with. It's bugging me and I can't seem to find the edit button for the author's note about when they're taking questions.

J.R. Tompkins (jrtompkins) | 5 comments Hi Christian,

I think if you go to your Author Dashboard page (https://www.goodreads.com/author/dash...), then go down to "My Ask the Author Settings" and change your "Update my Message to Readers" or click on "Reset to default message", that might be what you're looking for?

Thank you, that worked. I was just not finding that page.

Mateja Klaric (matejaklaric) | 1 comments I wish Goodreads would work more on their UX experience because after 4 years since this answer was published here I had to go through the same ordeal and finally, after much ado, found the answer on how to deal with this here.

I do not feel dumb, I feel the person who built this in such a user-unfriendly way could and should do a better job - with users in mind.

Hi Mateja, thanks for your comments on the Ask the Author feature. Your feedback has been passed on to our team. 😊

Darren Johnson (darren-johnson) | 1 comments This tripped me up, too. Had to read this thread several times before my brain finally registered, "Click on the question heading."
