| god-modding is essentially having your character be a god, they can't be harmed, do whatever they wish, and can do what they like to other's characters. your character can't dodge every attack or be the greatest at everything (also called marysuing). metagaming is using real-life knowledge concerning the state of the rp to determine a character's actions, when said character has no relevant knowledge or awareness under the circumstances. this can refer to plot information in the rp such as secrets or events occurring away from the character. metagaming is an example of "breaking character", as the character is making decisions based on information they couldn't know and thus would not make in reality. your character cannot know everything and overhear everything. your character will be aware of what they're directly involved in, and anything that is posted in a town newspaper, blog or something of that format. they can not 'overhear' everything or know anything that they feasibly wouldn't be able to. power-playing is when you take control of another's character. unless you’ve spoken to your partner about an action their character made, you cannot say their character did anything. your character is the only one you can control. in other words, if you do not rp as legolas, then you cannot have legolas say anything, or do anything, without the player's express permission. simply put, don't be a dick in rp. break it three times, and you will be banned.

| powers should make sense together, if your character has more than one. water-bending and ice-bending would make sense together. however, true-love visage, scrying, healing, conjuration and animal telepathy is just a random list of powers. while there is no real set limit to powers, they must make sense together and you can't list a hundred random ones. be reasonable. if another character's main ability is summoning creatures, and you want that power, you must ask them first if they'd be alright with it, and it must be different from their's. example: fire-manipulation including fire immunity and the ability to create fire, fire-manip without fire immunity, must use pre-existing fire. powers shouldn't be exactly the same. mods may also add input or ask you to edit or change a power that they might feel is overpowered or out of place.

| i've seen this done in many fandom based groups. an oc is best pals with a canon character without asking the rper of that character if it is okay. they use them in their history without permission. on one occasion, an individual used a character mentioned in my oc's history as a relative of their own, making them enemies of my character due to his involvement in their death, without my permission. they began to abuse this hatred of my character to needlessly star drama in rp and then antagonize me for complaining about it. do not be like them. ask before using others' characters in your own history, be friends, enemies, or relatives. if you want relatives, request one with an outline as detailed as possible or make an adoptable.

| no spamming ooc in rp threads. chat is to be kept in chat. when speaking ooc in rp threads, use (). do not go off on tangents, it just clutters up the threads. take the conversation to either pm or chat. take turns replying on rp, if the scene involves three or more rpers, decide who will post after whom. don't skip a person's reply unless they specifically mention being okay with being skipped, else wait for them to. when your scene ends, such as the characters parting ways or move to another location, it is the responsibility of whoever's turn it is to post to paste a 'location open' message so others know they can now use the location as you are done with it. this is to prevent thread hijacking. any sexual scenes should be taken into pm, but as before, post 'location open.' after the scene in pm is finished, along with a 'continued in pm' when the scene moves there. do not go into too much gory grimmdark detail if you can help it when involving such topics. the inclusion of trigger warnings in rp are optional, but if you feel like it might be too explicit, contain it in a spoiler. dark topics, when in character histories, however, must be put in a spoiler with warnings.

| we aren't all perfect, but at the minimum, in rp, do not use text speak. no 'omg, it wuz g8 cing u, emma, but i gtg.' full sentences. no one-liners, a paragraph of three sentences minimum.

| all characters must be approved before use. this goes for moderators as well. all subplots must be approved before use. the creation of a new species must be approved before use. any events, such as deaths, marriages, births, or holidays (even mentioned in passing "i can't believe you had to leave our staff christmas party to stop lex luthor! you left me there talking to steve all night, steve!") must be approved.

| groups die. this is true. so be active, invite your friends to join. members who have gone a month without any constructive comment (chatting therefore does not count) will be removed from the group. claims and characters must be made, you must role-play if you want to be a member of this group. no wall flowers here. they just give false hope of activity.
