What is going on with Elena?

I love Illium and Elena's relationship! WTH is going on?

Who is killing/torturing vampires? Is Beth and Maggie going to be safe? Is the prophecy about Elena? (view spoiler)[Holy Crap! An Ancient is talking to Elena in her mind. The Legion knew her. Does the prophecy mean that Elena has to die so she can be reborn or metamorphous like a butterfly? (hide spoiler)]

Whoa! What happened? Maybe, I'll give this one a wide berth for now. Just spent the day crying while reading

I will definitely give that one a wide berth. It wasn't until the end that it was sad and I was emotional this morning...not a good combination.

There's some crazy stuff going on here! I knew it was going to end (view spoiler)[as soon as she opened her eyes! (hide spoiler)]...the question is, what is she going to be now?

Could you imagine being able to see not only the future, but all the possible futures that could be? I wouldn't blame that archangel for being crazy!
