This edition is a lot higher than most on there, but I did find one that was 448 pages meaning this one isn't double any other maximum page lengths, and also one that was over 1,700 pages (which I'm sure was incorrect). If it is too large to count in comparison to most others though, I understand and can alter it :)

Hi Dannii, the problem we have with classics, is that there are a lot of editions which aren't purely the book. They have forwards, annotated bits, essays, reflections, study questions and all sorts included, so it's difficult to know which page counts are a reflection of the actual story, and which have extra bits, for example this edition at 517 pages - https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/9... actually has the book in there twice, which you don't know until you read the blurb, and this edition at 462 pages - https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/9... also has the book in there twice.

The book's word count online is 78,462 words, which would be around 314 pages. I'm going to count the book at that figure for now, because there are thousands of editions, and Goodreads doesn't even want to load them at the moment. If you do find another edition which is what you read without anything extra, then please let me know and I'll add any extra points x
