Early 1900’s children’s book with main character “Lapreal”

I have a dear friend that wants to learn where her name came from. She was named after her mother who was born in 1919. When her mother was born her sisters asked their parents if they could name her Lapreal after a character in a book they were reading. She doesn’t know what book it was. Do any of you happen to know of a children’s book from the early 1900’s with a character named Lapreal?
