Welcome! Please Introduce Yourself Here

Loved english mysteries since my early chlidhood. Besides from reading, I love watching mysteries like Mrs Marple and when I was a child - Jeremy Brett in Sherlock Holmes.
I enjoy reading/watching a good mystery placed in English countryside homes where several characters are involved, with a spice of British humour.
Feel free to add me as a friend!

Welcome to the group Miroslav !
I'm Tiziana, 51 years old from Italy ( the reason why my English is not the best... :-) )
Love Conan Doyle and Christie since I was 12 years old.
I mostly read classic mysteries or cozy mysteries, I really don't like horrors and thrillers thrillers with creepy scenes and I don't like books with dirty and rude language.
Between one mystery and another I like to read something like: children's classics, romantic novels with a pinch of adventure and espionage, fiction inspired by real events but featuring a happy ending.
I joined this group about 2 months ago and found kind people and lots of good reading suggestions.
Welcome aboard and have a great fun !

Dobar dan, Miroslav and welcome to the group! I've been in Dalmatia for some summers when I was a child and loved the place, but I've never been in Serbia. Hope you enjoy your staying with the group!

Dobar dan :) Thank You for welcoming me, Miriam. Serbia is also a lovely place.

Thank You, Helen.

It would be too much of a coincidence if you were from the lovely town of Fergus!

Hi Miroslav, and welcome to the "English Mysteries Club". Your reading choices are exactly the sort of thing we read here. From Sherlock Holmes to cosy mysteries are right up our street, so I hope you like it here, and find lots of things to join in with 😊
(I apologise for the late reply! This thread had dropped off my notifications!)

Hi Fergus! What a surprise! It's so good to see you here, and I hope you enjoy the "English Mysteries Club" 😊
(Again, I apologise for not picking this up earlier ... )

Thank You so much, Jane! This is such a pleasent group! I would like us all to live in Victorian villa and discuss mystery books in some beautiful vintage library!

Hi Annie! It's lovely to see you here, and I hope you find lots to join in with in the "English Mysteries Club". I was born and brought up in the next county to yours - Yorkshire 😊

Hello Annie, I'm Tiziana, from Italy.
My favorite English mystery are those set in the past, but of course I also like to read something contemporary from time to time.
Welcome aboard !! :-)

I’ll post first in the “What are you reading now?” topic.

Hi Abishay and welcome to the "English Mysteries Club". I hope you enjoy it here, and that we can introduce you to those new, great authors you seek 😊

Hi Amy, and welcome to the "English Mysteries Group". What a great introductory post you have written 😀 We do indeed read all types of English mystery, and P.J. Fitzsimmons's series with its Bertie Woodhouse flavour sounds just our cup of tea!
I am about to set up the poll for next month's group read, and nearly added it ... but actually this month's poll is golden age authors. Next month's poll however, will be the chance for contemporary or more recent English mystery authors, so do feel free to nominate one of P.J. Fitzsimmons's about Anty Boisjoly from 1st onwards (or I can, if you prefer).
Until then, please do join in with any other threads you fancy!

Welcome to the "English Mysteries Club" Lisa! I hope you like it it here. We read all the authors you mention, as well as lots of others, and even had Magpie Murders as a group read a while ago. Do join in wherever you like, and have fun!

Hi Jenyfer, and welcome to the "English Mysteries Group". You seem to read lots of mysteries, so it's lovely to hear that you have a soft spot for English ones like Father Brown 😊
I hope you like it here; have a look around and jump in wherever you fancy!
