For this challenge, you will pick a book that you read last month. Using the first sentence in the book, find another book that is associated with that sentence.

You can read as many books as you like from one of last month's books, or
you can read a book for several of last month's books. (Did that make sense? :)

Examples:
Last month I read The Princess Bride. The first line is: "This is my favorite book in all the world, though I have never read it." - re-read one of your favorite books or read a book you have never read

... Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. The first line is: "Mr. and Mrs. Dursley, of number four Privet Drive, were proud to say that they were perfectly normal, thank you very much." - read a book that is the 4th in a series or where the main characters are married

... Moon Called. The first line is: "I didn't realize that he was a werewolf at first." - read a book written in the first person or read a paranormal or urban fantasy story

Duration: March 1 - 31, 2019
Re-reads and audio books are okay.
There are no page limits.

This line reminded me that I had one book I didn't get to last month.
The line is from Dead to the Last Drop by Tonya Kappes:
"I liked nothing better than the smell of the freshly made coffees that brewed in the industrial coffee makers."
The book to read this month: On What Grounds Cleo Coyle DONE 3/26/20

If I get that read, I hope to read Rest in Peach Susan Furlong based on this first line from A Peach of a Murder by Livia J. Washburn:
"The smell of peaches filled the air, sweet but with a particular bite all its own." DONE--read 3/24/20

I'm in. Last month I read The Picture of Dorian Gray. Here's the first line, "The studio was filled with the rich odour of roses, and when the light summer wind stirred amidst the trees of the garden, there came through the open door the heavy scent of the lilac, or the more delicate perfume of the pink-flowering thorn."

You have to admire those old books and those long sentences that end up being paragraphs!

Jeanne (oldemill) | 431 comments I am returning to CF after nearly a year and nursing my ailing husband until his recent death, so I am looking for an escape and mood lifter.

For my sentence from The Picture of Dorian Gray, I read Valerie by Joan Smith . The lady looks like she's walking through a garden filled with flowers and trees.
