Zahna | 8 comments Just finished and thought it was quite good. The ending seemed a little hashed together, though. Nice, quirky characters. I'm going to try some of her other books.

Patty | 4482 comments I finished the book, and liked the reparte between Mathilde , Charles, Adamsberg, and Danglard until it stopped. The last third of the book became a different book and I thought suffered for this. We lost the voices Charles and Mathilde; two people vital to the story.

Why hadn’t our author thought of bringing up the point of the missing items from the chalk circle when there was a body? Was this a mistake of the author? Our police? You’d think it would have been discussed—like the bloody gloves they found close to the one site, or the hand laying over the blue circle.

I liked that Mathilde collected people. I would actually like to read a book with her and Charles being the sleuths.
