Janice (jamasc) | 59958 comments You're ahead of me in the planning of your levels. Could you include the series name and number of books you've read in the series?

For example:

The American Trilogy, 2/3 read.
- To read: I Married a Communist

(35 points)

I'm assuming you've read book 1 and 3, but there's nothing there to tell me... and I don't want to have to do too much homework in verifying people's progress. :)

I will. I'm still working this out, but when I finalize I'll be sure to keep you up-to-speed. This really is a challenge. My "I must read everything in the series" self is at war with my "I hate this author!" self. Which one will win?!?!

message 9: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59958 comments Oops. I jumped the gun. Sorry!

If you haven't read many books in the series of an author you hate, drop the series I say. If you only have one book left, go for it and get the points.

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments Great planning so far. I was wondering how to write them up. Thanks, Thing Two! :0). Now, I just have to keep myself from looking at your titles! Everything sounds interesting!

I think I got four or five of the Little House books behind me before I gave up.

I looked at it by pages. If I only have a couple hundred pages to finish the series, it's worth it.

I think this will be a mix of easy, easy reading (Little House, Mitford Years, Mary Crow, Hunger Games) and more challenging reads (African Trilogy, House of Earth, Toni Morrison Trilogy) and stuff brand new to me that I hope I like enough to continue (Empire Trilogy, Growth Trilogy, Hannah Smith).

Now I'm off to see if I can actually find all of these books.

You know this is my favorite time of year, right? Happy List-Making to one and all!

Ava Catherine | 4258 comments Look at you go, girl!

You have some heavy reading on your list. Good luck. I like Joyce Carol Oates, but she can be a little redundant and long winded at times. Then sometimes her prose sings. I hope this is a beautiful series you are reading.

I have the Pearl S. Buck series on my list, too.

Philip Roth and Toni Morrison are pretty deep, too. Hope you enjoy them. Glad you have some lighter reads mixed in to give you a break. : )

Congrats on the crown, BTW! : )

jaxnsmom | 8341 comments Your gophering is really paying off! You deserve that crown. Your mention of a book being out of print makes me realize I should be sure I can get ahold of all the books in a series before trying to finish it.
