"I don't know! We still haven't devolved a plan of attack! She's still gotta come with us back!" He said in a hushed voice.

"I don't want her to be my fathers prisoner." Max said, shaking his head slightly. "Maybe we should just tell her the truth. Maybe she could help us... Somehow."

"Or she'll be terrified out of her mind, warm everyone and I'll be dead by morning." He blurted then felt bad immediately afterwRss.

Max swallowed, looking for another way out of the situation. "You're right." He finally said. "Maybe it's better to just catch her now and be done with it."

"Look I didn't mean that as harsh as it sounded!" He said with a sigh "but I think it's for the best.."

Dow walked in the room with a bright smile

Max nodded to Carter, then turned to lood at Doe. How were they going to go about this?

Doe smiled at the two of them brightly and asked them if they were done eating picking up her own plate and carrying it into the kitchen.

Max turned to Carter again and whispers, "How are we going to do this?"

"Overpower her I guess? I have rope in the bag by the couch!" He whispered

Max nodded silently and glanced up as Doe walked back into the room. He didn't want to give her over to his father, but he would if it meant saving Carter.

Doe walked in and smiled at carter and max shinning brightly

Max shared a glance with Carter, then stood and slowly approached Doe. If she realized what he was doing, he wanted to be close enough that she couldn't use the sword that wrapped itself up her arm.

She didn't see any threat knowing she could trust them walking to get Carter's plate

Max swallowed hard and approached Doe's back silently. He quickly grabbed her hands, twisting them behind her back so she couldn't move.

She screamed and dropped to her knees "max?! What are you doing?!" She said scared and confused

Max looked up at Carter, loosening his hold slightly to make it a bit more comfortable for Doe. "Could you please get the rope?" He asked Carter calmly.

"Rope?! Max what's going on?!" Cried doe she looked up at him tears in her bright brown eyes.

Carter wouldn't look at her and grabbed the rope and handed it to carter.

Max didn't answer and refused to look at her. He took the rope and untwisted Doe's arms. He tied her arms behind her back, making it loose enough not to dig into her skin, but tight enough that she couldn't slip her small hands through.

Tears streaked her face "they said humans couldn't be trusted.." She whispered she laid limply on the ground

Max looked away from Doe as tears of shame burned in his own eyes. "I'm sorry." He says softly.

Carter turned away "I think I would've rather died then this.." He said under his breath.

Doe cried quietly her heart shattered. She not only had she trusted them.. She started to develop feelings for max, and he has shattered her heart.

Max looked at Doe, then shook his head. "I can't do this." He muttered. Then he turned to Carter and said "We're not bringing her in. I'm sorry, but I can't do it."

"How hard is it to find this place?" Carter said running a hand through his hair.

Doe listened tears still rolling down her cheeks.

"I don't know." Max turns to Doe, seeing if she would answer. It was quite possible that she wouldn't, now that they'd gone and tied her up.

Doe remained silent. Laying with her hands tied behind her back

"Let's hope so, because if they find is.. It'll be one hell if a hanging party in town square." Carter said looking out the small window

"Yeah." Max says. Then he turned back to Doe. He pulls a small knife out of his belt, crouching down so he could reach her tied hands. "Please, don't go all macho and kill us." He says and starts sawing at the rope.

She pulled her hands apart snapping the rope. She stood shoving max out of her way her eyes and cheeks wet with tears, she walked to her bedroom slamming the door her back to it's he slid down it and put her heads in her hands and sobbed.

Max fell to the ground, watching as Doe walked back to her room. Tears of shame once again burned in his eyes. She'd been so nice to them, and he'd turned around and stabbed her in the back.

Carter walked over to him and kneeled down beside him and said "you aren't the one who did this.. It's your dad's fault not yours." He said to him lifting his chin up

Max pulled away. "I could've said no. I could've told Doe the truth in the first place." The tears spilled over, and he wiped them away quickly. This wasn't the time to cry.

"In the end you made the right choice.." Carter said knowing fully what it employed

Max looked at Carter for a moment. "Which means... What? You die?"

"AtleAst an innocent won't die." He said not looking at max.

"I'm sorry," Max said. "What?"

"Atleast a innocent will not die." He said pointing to does room.

Max looked down silently. "I wonder what she'll do." Max said, looking back up at the shut door.

"Go talk to her.." Carter said standing

Max paused, then pushed himself off the floor where Doe had pushed him. He slowly approached the door, then knocked softly.

Doe laid on her bed her face in a pillow crying softly, her heart was shattered and she felt sick to her stomach. When sen heard the knock she just groaned and said "go away."

Carter waved his hands saying "talk from the door."

Max nodded to Carter, then turned back to the door. "Doe?" Max said softly.

"What do you want?" Doe responded quietly but sharply

Max swallowed, then said, "I want to say that I'm sorry." He spoke softly, leaning forward to put his forehead on the wood of the door.

""Why should I believe you?@ she said with tears in her eyes.

"You can't." He said after a pause. "There's no reason for you to believe me. They were going to kill Carter if I didn't bring someone back. I'm not trying to make any excuses; what I did was wrong. And I understand completely why you wouldn't forgive me. But I'm just asking you to understand."

"They are going to kill your best friend?" She asked sitting up

Max furrows his brow, pulling his head back from the door at the slight sound on the other side. "Yeah. That's why I even agreed to come out here in the first place."

"So if you don't turn me in he'll die?" Doe asked with wide eyes.

"Not if we don't get caught." Max responded. "That's why we asked how hard this place is to find."

"Impossible without the help of a elf."

Max nodded, almost unaware that she couldn't see him. "Are you okay with us staying here? I don't want to stay here if you don't want us to." Max says after a pause.
