Why I decided to read this book?

I chose to read this book because I had heard lots of people saying good things about it and I wanted to see what it was about. Another thing that intrested me was the designs on the front and back cover. I liked them because they were bold and simple with cool colours and desings.
Why I liked it (or didn’t like it) and my favourite quote and why.

I like this book because there was always something happening. From the first page where the story starts to the last page right at the end where you are left on a cliff hanger waiting to see what is going to happen in the next book in the series.

My favourite quote in the book is when one of the main charactors, Sam, says "We didn't make this world, wer'e just the poor ones living in it." I liked this quote because it matched the tone and theme in the book really well.
Something new I learned from this book/The book made me think differently about.

The book made me think differently about how much it would hurt if someone in your family died or moved away. At the the start of the book I hadn't really thought about it but now that I have, I am not sure what I would do without a few people in my life.

A character or setting in this book that was interesting to me (and why).

I was interested in the main charactor, Sam. He caught my attention at the start of the book when there were a few lines about how much he liked surfing and being by the ocean. I also love surfing, swimming, and fishing so he had instantly caught my attention. He liked to spend a lot of time down by the water and lived near the beach aswell which is something I would love to do when I am older.
