Alison, I'm avoiding books about plagues right now, too, for obvious reasons — do you feel like the plague-related themes in this book are particularly heavy related to current events? I'm a little nervous about whether I want to read this one right now or not! lol


I'm only 30% of the way in right now, but so far the plague feels secondary to the actual horror, more backstory/justification than main plot. And it's a very different plague than what we're experiencing.
This impression may change as the story develops, but so far the book is more Crichton's Sphere than King's The Stand.
