message 2557: by Sonya (new)

Sonya Bowen | 5 comments So I'm thinking of joining in on the next meeting (not this upcoming one). I'm still navigating the chat threads can someone explain to me how this works? I'm a bit confused about which book is picked for October for example.
thank you!

Hi Sonya! We will be discussing The Path of Thorns in September, and then after that meeting selecting the October book from a pool consisting of the winners of the October BOTM polls and the 2 re-read selections that are scheduled to start Oct 15. So come back Sept 29/30 to help us select a day, time and book!

message 2559: by Sonya (new)

Sonya Bowen | 5 comments Awesome ok. I will check back.
may try to read path of thorns too, if I have time. Sounds like a fun read.

Anna (vegfic) | 10434 comments Is October gonna be one of the series (Ancillary and was there something else, too?) or a catchup or one of these?

Shards of Earth
The Ninth Rain
Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep
Alphabet of Thorn

Do Androids Dream a distant second

Little light this month on both possible attendees and book choices! Please vote for a book you'd like to read and/or a time slot! If no one is terribly interested, we'll just try again in November :)

message 2575: by Sarah (new)

Sarah Connell (sarahconnell) | 315 comments I can always talk about Ninth Rain! It's been forever since I read Do Androids and I can't find a copy of the other two.

message 2576: by Nicol (new)

Nicol | 505 comments Shards of earth is the only one I’ve already read. Is there a consensus on which one we’re doing?

message 2577: by Allison, Fairy Mod-mother (new)

Allison Hurd | 14225 comments Mod
There is no book consensus and only 5 people can agree for sure on a time. I'm getting the vibe that maybe this month is a bit challenging.

message 2578: by Anna (new)

Anna (vegfic) | 10434 comments I propose that we meet on Oct 31st and the only thing on the agenda is Allison reading aloud the final chapter of Lonesome October.

Allison Hurd | 14225 comments Mod
Aw, that would be very cute.

haha would 4 pm Eastern work? end of the day for East Coast, lunch ish for West, bedtime for Europe?

message 2585: by Anna (new)

Anna (vegfic) | 10434 comments What a way to end October! (It would be 11pm my time.) I said that as a joke but I'd love it if you will actually do this!

Melanie | 1610 comments Mod
I don't get home until 6pm eastern.

message 2587: by Beth (new)

Beth (rosewoodpip) | 2003 comments I'll be at work but can move lunch break around to participate, though it'd be more of a social occasion for me since I haven't read Lonesome October. Maybe it'd also be a good opportunity to talk about the autumnal, spooky, or horror books we've read this season.

message 2588: by Melanie, the neutral party (new)

Melanie | 1610 comments Mod
Wait. No. I don't have rehearsal on Halloween. I can chime in @ 4:15est.

DivaDiane SM | 3680 comments We are flying to Athens on Halloween! What a bummer I’ll miss a Lonesome October Party! 🎃

I was inspired by Diane to read Wylding Hall for October, and am considering that Stephen Graham one
