I'd also be up for discussing The Fifth Season at the next meeting.

As for Virtual Book Club, I'd vote for it continuing on, I'd still attend even if the world went back to normal (which I'm hoping it will).

@John, it duplicated the micro. A microcell tower is like a mini cell tower in your home, it boosts a cell signal in places where it's low. I get one bar at home.

I was sorry to miss this one (even 8am is pretty early for me, and I just needed to sleep in this weekend), but I'd love to keep doing them.

I apologize for vanishing from this group. I've been pretty busy and couldn't fit the books in these past months. I might try for this month's though.

Mini vacation for me so I am out on the 17th and 19th.

I love that idea, Silvana! 26th is good for me, I think. I’ll be in Italy with the family, but hopefully we won’t be doing anything that will interfere with attending Virtual Book Club!! 😊

I read Fifth Season not long after it came out, and still remember a fair amount of it. I'll keep this thread on notification so I don't forget. :D

Been a non active member for a while. Love the idea of a virtual book club. Please how does this work?

Hi Chisom! What we do is we pick a date (looks like this month is July 26) and a time (11 am eastern usually but I can be talked around!) and one of the reread books for the month (this month is Fifth Season by Jemisin) and we get together on Zoom, an invite is sent about an hour before we begin on this thread, and we talk about the book, other things we've been reading and watching, and basically ANYTHING else we want except stressful things like the ongoing state of the world.

We've had some really excellent discussion and I think we all walk away with a much longer TBR :)

Oh no, I came back to read the chat when I heard everyone signing off, and found out it's no longer there after the meeting ends. Did anything fun or exciting happen in chat? I did listen to the discussion (great, as always!) but I missed all the chat action :(

Yeah, mine went to you, Jemina, and I have no idea why!! You probably just inadvertently replied to me. Weird. I was using my iPad too, so it was all a bit odd today.

Anna I tried to comment out loud on most of the things I saw in chat. I think the one thing I didnt get to say out loud was the comparison between the magic in Fifth Season and Star Wars that Chris and Silvana were talking about. Probably other things, sorry if I didn't mention something. I do try!

Also, I feel like I talk *a lot* even for me lol

Would anyone like to help think of questions to pose the group for whatever book we select next?
