Ken | 5 comments Does anyone remember a YA novel, probably came out in the 70's, that features a race of mini flying humanoids living in giant trees, and another race that lived on the ground? The tree people feared the ground people. Two tree kids somehow fell or got stuck on the ground and were afraid of what the ground people might do. That's about all I remember.

Sarah | 3168 comments Well. This isn’t it because it’s much newer than that- but it sort of sounded similar to Crossroads of Canopy, which I believe is YA, and has kingdoms in trees and on the ground. No flying humanoids as far as I can tell though.

Margaret | 428 comments This sounds to me an awful lot like Zilpha Keatley Snyder's Below the Root (and sequels), though the characters in those books are normal-sized for humans--it's just that they're on a low-gravity planet so they can use kitelike garments to glide. But they do live in trees and they do fear the ground people.

Oh wow, I had no idea that was a book series. As a child I played a computer game quite a bit on my Commodore 64 called “Below the Root” that looks like it must surely have been based on this series based on the description of the first book.
