Team Apples!
✔️ Marythios
✔️ Isabel
✔️ Ikram
✔️ Circe
✔️ Sierra
✔️ Jenn
✔️ Emeli

Please check in by April 1st! :D

Spreadsheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/...

Just wanted to let all teams know I am changing the rules a little bit. The original rules stated that you must post books on the review thread in alphabetical order. This is no longer the case. You can post books out of order. HOWEVER, you must post all 26 letters before moving on to the next set of alphabet letters.

For example, if someone has already posted an “A” book, another “A” book cannot be posted until all other 25 letters have been posted.

I’m sorry if this confuses anyone but I have started a new job that will prevent me from getting on GR as much as I used to. This should help me out and make things much easier when I’m doing scores.

As a mod, who knows a tad bit (lol), I recommend not claiming letters for books you are currently reading. Everyone should add their books to the “banked tab” and move them to an open spot when they’re finished reading. This will prevent teams from having to wait on someone to finish a book before moving to the next set of letters.

Thereadingbell | 477 comments I read 3 books a day so that means a lot of reading for me. If we have any other big readers lets do some coordinating to not let any book go to waste. I have a lot of flexibility in my books for the most part. The more coordinated the smoother this will run for us. I can plan to read A,B,C for first day if you guys want me too and I will have them done as well. Just let me know and I will go through my books and plan accordingly to knock them out fast.

si ( ◠‿◠ ) (buriedunderbooks) | 555 comments Hi everyone! I just finished The Dream Thieves (The Raven Cycle, #2) by Maggie Stiefvater and How to Train Your Dragon (How to Train Your Dragon, #1) by Cressida Cowell . I'm snagging R for ravens and D for dragon, unless someone else has something that can fit for D and I can take H for helmet, T for tail, or S for scales.

I'm also starting Blue Lily, Lily Blue (The Raven Cycle, #3) by Maggie Stiefvater (girl, hair, petals, leaves, nose, mouth) and Salt to the Sea by Ruta Sepetys (water, life preserver, storm). I'm trying to finish Salt to the Sea by Sunday afternoon so I can discuss it at book club so expect another update soon haha

message 21: by Isabel (new)

Isabel | 1328 comments So, does anyone have an idea what they are reading for the more difficult letters such as X or Y? I'll try reading In My Life A Music Memoir by Alan Johnson for "V" as in vinyl

Isabel | 1328 comments Hey guys!
Our remaining letter is 'Q' and i was thinking that the word 'Quartet' (a set of four people or things) could maybe work? If anyone has a book that were compatible (i do not)

message 30: by Isabel (last edited Apr 13, 2020 09:45AM) (new)

Isabel | 1328 comments I found Quitting Plastic Easy and practical ways to cut down the plastic in your life by Clara Williams Roldan .

Do you guys thing that could pass for "a quartet of citrus fruit"? (oranges+lemon)

or

Everything I Never Told You by Celeste Ng for "a quartet of paper strips" (4 stripes of paper)?

Those two are currently checked out at my e-library, so if you guys have any other books that work let us know!

message 35: by si ( ◠‿◠ ) (new)

si ( ◠‿◠ ) (buriedunderbooks) | 555 comments Idk if these will work but after some research....

on the How to be a Pirate (How to Train Your Dragon, #2) by Cressida Cowell cover there are curly-q’s on the horns of his helmet..... 😂 will that work or is that too much of a stretch?

oooorrr How to Speak Dragonese (How to Train Your Dragon, #3) by Cressida Cowell does the boy’s hair flipping up count as a quiff??

message 36: by Isabel (new)

Isabel | 1328 comments maybe you should post that question in the q&a thread because i have noooo idea Sierra hahah

Isabel | 1328 comments @Marythios

i saw your review posts and they don't match our spread sheet, for example you posted Airplane for A btu in the chart it says you're reading Walking in time for arm (twice the same letter for 1 chart/challenge, which we cannot do i think).

Would you mind rectifying that please? If you're too busy i can also do it for you, let me know!

I did not use Airplane again on spread sheet 2 and never used that book as far as I see we finished ABC's for first set now we are starting over with ABC again which requires different books unless I am missing something.

message 40: by ikram (new)

ikram (basingse) | 373 comments Hey everyone! I've finished 5 books this month and will be reviewing books soon. I wasn't able to write anything due to my working hours that are longer than usual

message 41: by Thereadingbell (last edited Apr 22, 2020 12:00AM) (new)

Thereadingbell | 477 comments I need others to help read for these odd letters I have been reading for them the first two sets but running out of books to do the next round. Q,U,V,X,Y, Z.

message 42: by — Massiel (new)

— Massiel (rollitosdecanela) | 455 comments I'm almost finishing Skyward (Skyward, #1) by Brandon Sanderson and Lock Every Door by Riley Sager but I can't thing any objects with letters Q, U, X, Y, or Z in the covers.

message 43: by Thereadingbell (new)

Thereadingbell | 477 comments Circe wrote: "I'm almost finishing Skyward (Skyward, #1) by Brandon Sanderson and Lock Every Door by Riley Sager but I can't thing any objects with letters Q, U, X, Y, or Z in the covers."

you do not necessary need objects some of those letters you can read a book with a title with the letter. But only the select letters in the instructions for the challenge.

message 44: by Thereadingbell (new)

Thereadingbell | 477 comments I found a book with a unicorn on it but an umbrella would work for U if you can find a book with that on the cover. V I found Violet flowers and van. Z I found a book with a zebra on it and the title with Z X I found a book with an author name with x and a title with x these are examples of what I found for the first two rounds.

message 45: by Thereadingbell (new)

Thereadingbell | 477 comments I also believe we are in round three of the ABC's so you can start filling in those letters.

message 46: by Isabel (new)

Isabel | 1328 comments For ABC3 I read Everything I Never Told You by Celeste Ng for Q (quartet) :)

message 47: by — Massiel (new)

— Massiel (rollitosdecanela) | 455 comments Marythios: Thanks! I'll use the cover then as letter V since is violet the cover.

message 48: by Isabel (new)

Isabel | 1328 comments Hey guys! I just wanted to ask if we're working on ABC3 or on ABC4?

because i the "posted" for ABC3 isn't finished but the one for ABC4 has already been started (just so i know what letters i should be reading for)

message 49: by Jenn (new)

Jenn (tellingmelies) | 3354 comments I was wondering that too Isabel! I haven't posted anything for round 4 because based on the spreadsheet I thought we were still in 3

message 50: by Isabel (new)

Isabel | 1328 comments I have the same issue haha! because i have two books for ABC4 but i thought we were still completing ABC3.

Nevermind though because i'm sure one of the mods will point it out, should there be a confusion when updating the review points (the sheet)!
