@Alex: Okay! So how'd they meet? And what happened? If I remember right, in the film they had a trade of sorts? Voice for legs? Maybe somethin' like that? A trade still?

@Chrys: I think that we should stick to the film on how they met, and they did trade a voice for legs, let's keep the trade. I think that somehow she should have her voice back, though.

@Alex: Yep, Ariel should, to make things easy. But we have to make the event just something that parallels the actual event in the film. Ideas?

Maybe since high school? Like Violet could be having a panic attack and Periwinkle helps her out and their teacher (or some other teacher in charge of students' wellcare) assigns Periwinkle to take care of Violet and they become good friends through that.
