This past month has been a doozy in more ways than one. If all's well for you and yours, then maybe you have a bright side. More reading time. With libraries closed, are you relying more on the home shelf and/or digital books? In the midst of recent quarantines, what were March's best reads?

I spent last month busy with edits & finishing touches on a couple of writing projects, so I stole my reading time in short bursts. And I had a hankering to read (or reread) some classics on my shelves. So my bests include Sarah, Plain and Tall, The Courage of Sarah Noble, and The Family Under the Bridge. Another standout was Missing May by Cynthia Rylant, which I stumbled across at the thrift store. I didn't realize it had earned a Newberry until I finished and went to add it to Goodreads. Well deserved.

Harley Bennett | 116 comments I read lots of good books in March. My favorite was A Night Divided by Jennifer A. Nielsen.

Marion (_tirilu) I still gotta work and since it’s extra stressful now I got less reading done than I would have liked. I really enjoyed Del Toro Moon by Darby Karchut though.

Critter (bookishcritter) | 20 comments I also wasn't able to read as much as I wanted to last month. My favorite book that I read in March was Keep it Together, Keiko Carter by Debbi Michiko Florence.

Justine Laismith (justinelaismith) | 348 comments I had a good haul last month. Including our book of the month, I thoroughly enjoyed three books.

The Iron Trial is good for Harry Potter fans, except they have to audition to get it to the Magic School. Our hero, tried his best to fail and ends up being selected to train under the best mage.

Maybe a Fox is a paranormal heart-felt book about siblings and grief.

Louie Genesis Begins Again by Alicia D. Williams was amazing. One of my favorites of the whole year so far.

Another good one was From the Desk of Zoe Washington by Janae Marks.

I only read two MG books in March (I didn't read much at all, being rather busy). Neither was great, but the better of the two was Gone-Away Lake, a Newbery Honor book from 1957. It was kind of nice for the current situation--a breath of fresh air from a different time, a sweet story without a lot of plot :)
