The best book I read in March (2020)

The Iron Trial is good for Harry Potter fans, except they have to audition to get it to the Magic School. Our hero, tried his best to fail and ends up being selected to train under the best mage.
Maybe a Fox is a paranormal heart-felt book about siblings and grief.

Another good one was From the Desk of Zoe Washington by Janae Marks.

I only read two MG books in March (I didn't read much at all, being rather busy). Neither was great, but the better of the two was Gone-Away Lake, a Newbery Honor book from 1957. It was kind of nice for the current situation--a breath of fresh air from a different time, a sweet story without a lot of plot :)

Both are great. You will enjoy them.

I spent last month busy with edits & finishing touches on a couple of writing projects, so I stole my reading time in short bursts. And I had a hankering to read (or reread) some classics on my shelves. So my bests include Sarah, Plain and Tall, The Courage of Sarah Noble, and The Family Under the Bridge. Another standout was Missing May by Cynthia Rylant, which I stumbled across at the thrift store. I didn't realize it had earned a Newberry until I finished and went to add it to Goodreads. Well deserved.
