Also, playwright Sarah Ruhl recently published a book of mini-essays (100 Essays I Don't Have Time to Write: On Umbrellas and Sword Fights, Parades and Dogs, Fire Alarms, Children, and Theater) that are pretty interesting, as well as numerous lauded plays.
I had a few friends who really enjoyed The Other Typist by Suzanne Rindell.

If JE also works you could read A Visit from the Goon Squad by Jennifer Egan or anything by Jeffrey Eugenides. Seriously if you haven't, read Eugenides! He's amazing!
If you have children in your life at all, or just enjoy a good kid's book, The Last of the Really Great Whangdoodles was written by Julie Andrews Edwards (yes THAT Julie Andrews).

Someone else posted this awhile back that's where I got Judith ivory from but several have your Initials"
The book covers turned me off.LOL But thank you! :D

This is so helpful! Thank you!
