"I don't carefully plan - and yet it's uncanny how often I seem to be reading just the right book at just the right time. Sometimes I feel compelled to read a book - or someone feels compelled to recommend it - for reasons I can't discern, and only later do I find it's essential to me, right then. Not before I started reading it, but after. The book may seem random when I choose it, but halfway through I realize, I need this right now."

Have you watched the old rom-com Serendipity? If you have it, know that it's a love story in which things "occur and develop by chance in a happy or beneficial way." Anne Bogel shares that her reading life is often serendipitous in nature. What about yours?

Are there books that you've read that popped up at just the right time? Whether they were pulled at random from your bookshelf, caught your eye at the bookstore, or beamed up at you from the freebie table at your local library, they just suddenly came into your life and filled a void you didn't know you had?

For the educators in us, how does acknowledging these occurrences remind you of the importance of reading and, consequently, the importance of our jobs as teachers and clinicians?
