Monica (Tomes Project) (tomesproject) This book has been sitting on my shelf since about the time that it was released. I was a big fan of the Divergent trilogy, and I was so excited at the Veronica's announcement of the novellas. Also, I have heard nothing but wonderful things about this collection, and it should be a really quick read.

Tina (tjlich) I'll be joining you, Little Miss. I'm not much for prequels usually, but the entire time I was immersed in the Divergent series, I couldn't help wonder what was going on in Tobias's head. I'm excited to find out what makes him tick from his own point of view.

misplacedselchie | 347 comments I think I have this down for another challenge. Can't wait to hear what you think :)

Silvia Turcios | 304 comments I am reading Four now and I am enjoying it a lot... maybe is because my favorite character in the Divergent series is Four :)

Tina (tjlich) Starting tonight!

Sophie (sawphie) These novellas seem interesting, I like Tobias and look forward to knowing more about him. I'll read this book for week 12 - short stories.

Tina (tjlich) Well, it's got its ups and downs. The first story bored me to death. It may as well had been the first few chapters of Divergent, only with Tobias telling his version of it 2 years prior. The next 2 stories are a bit better. I learned a few things in these 2 books and one particularly interesting and surprising fact.

The final book was the best for me of the 4. It's when Tobias is Tris's instructor and the interaction between them from his POV is neat to read. One thing bugged me... the dialog he and Tris exchange in exact scenes out of the Divergent series, is actually different from Tobias's POV than from Tris's POV. I wonder if this is done purposely by Roth, to make a point that different people hear and interpret things very differently. But it's dialog I'm referring to, not inner thoughts, so it did throw me a little out of the story.

Other plus's about book 4... you learn a lot of what Tobias knew about Dauntless and Erudite and the Factionless that didn't get revealed in the Divergent series. That is what I was waiting for and expecting when I chose to read this mini series. Some revelation. But it didn't really show itself all that much until the last story. In all though, it was a fun, short read and I enjoyed it.
