Katie (kmm0321) | 12 comments 3rd time reading, but first time finally making one of these topics to do mini-challenges...
Just figured out I may only be able to do ~12 hours this year, but that's better than nothing!!

Looking forward to Saturday!

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) Wow, third time! Gl! ^_^

Kate (kathrynlouwca) Do you knit? I just learned about a year ago and I'm obsessed right now!

Yes! I learned as a kid and in the last year or two, I've mastered knitting and reading at the same time - so I expect to do some of that this weekend! The key, for me, is an ereader (so I can just prop it up and turning pages is easier) and a simple knitting project - lots of garter or stockinette!
What's your favorite thing you've knit so far??

message 5: by Kate (new)

Kate | 644 comments Just to add to the confusion I'm another Kate who enjoys knitting! lol Knitting and Reading at the same time isn't something I've mastered yet. I knitted my Dad a Sofa Tidy for his birthday last week as I couldn't go shopping.
Enjoy the readathon Katie. :)

Nice!! That'd be a great thing to knit right now. I hope your dad enjoyed the gift!
Like I said - e-reader and something that's very basic/mindless knitting was key - I do socks, which is hours of stockinette, so those work well for reading. :)
Happy reading on Saturday!

Kate (kathrynlouwca) Wow, knitting and reading at the same time is SOOOOOO TALENTED! lol. I've yet to finish anything except a dishcloth. Probably need to stop casting on everything. lol. I think I have like four pairs of socks started. I'm almost done with the first sock on one of them. I'm really enjoying sock knitting. I've also just casted on my first garment, which is terrifying. I've finished the K&T and now have 6 inches of stockinette to do before it comes to the next terrifying part (cutting the yarn and doing the shoulders on each side. I also have several shawls started that I love and a couple advent calendar projects (because apparently I couldn't just choose one advent...)

Have I mentioned that I'm addicted to starts!

Elsi (elsielsi) | 110 comments How nice to see a fellow knitter (or multiple) here! Thank you for the e-reader tip, I've been trying to find a way to turn pages while knitting. Have a nice readathon!

I'm so impressed that you're already on socks and sweaters!! It took me YEARS to work past anything that wasn't just a flat square/rectangle. I did a lot of dishclothes, scarves, and blankets, lol. I understand being addicted to starting projects!! I think I have like 8 WIPs right now!!

I have always lived by the motto "go big or go home". I think one of my socks was actually my second project. LOL. I just youtube tutorial things until I fully understand them and then I just go for it. I've also crocheted for like 17 years and I've cross stitched for about 20 years. Quilted for 5 years. I've just always got to be doing something with my hands and I'm generally not afraid try something new (craft related... almost everything else new I'm a complete chicken). I don't update it very often, but my instagram is like 99% craft related. https://www.instagram.com/craftingkate/

message 20: by Brittany (new)

Brittany | 34 comments Well done! Thats an impressive amount of pages.
Wish I knew better how to knit or crochet, one day I'll sit down and learn.
Enjoy the beer! What kind?

Page count sounds more impressive than it maybe really was... Lots of re-reads/illustrations/poetry. :)
I highly recommend knitting and crocheting. I do both, but knitting is by far my primary.
I've got a lovely little grape & blueberry smoothie sour from a local brewery. It was delicious!

message 22: by Katie (new)

Katie (kmm0321) | 12 comments Finished the remaining 50-ish pages I had left of Wow, No Thank You.
