When Ramona Jeffries of the Center for Disease Control in Atlanta discovered that remote villages in Venezuela were losing contact with the outside world she feared the worst: a new, deadly and virulently contagious disease had sprung up and wiped out the population of the villages that had gone dark. Ramona's projections, based on the known birth rate of Achillobactors, showed that they might just overrun all of South America, all of Central America and all of North America and perhaps even the entire world, an apocalyptic event that could wipe out the entire human race.
