Busy | 65 comments Started!

Busy | 65 comments One of narrators of this audiobook read the Dune audiobooks! It's basically like being read to by the Sheriff of Rottingham.

Busy | 65 comments I don't mean to keep bumping this up but I don't know how to edit comments on the app! I finished it tonight and let me say: it is a great choice for the week where we pick a book with a love triangle in it! It is written in a easy to understand and straightforward manner, but not plainly or unintelligently. There's little plot, and although it's a book based on Margaret Mead she's a side character. My one beef with this book is its end which (view spoiler) It's a nice little book, at less than 250 pages, and not a bad story. Triggers: moderate descriptions of suicide and implied spousal abuse.

Since I have it checked out of the library already I am going with Anne Shirley to college in Anne of the Islands! Doesn't fit the week but I never dreamed I'd finish a book so early and couldn't get a more recent book from the library on such short notice.

Busy | 65 comments Anne of the Islands is no placid dream like the second book. (view spoiler) The baking soda part is funny, but this is the last Anne book for me. Not because of all the more serious subjects- I just think its a typical sequel thing. It's peaked.

Busy | 65 comments (view spoiler) I am done with the quaint life of rural 1900's Canada. Wanton violence against animals really gets stuck in my craw.
