50 books to read before you die discussion

Frankenstein: or, the Modern Prometheus (1818) by Mary Shelley is #38 on the 50 books to read before you die list and our group read for May 2020. Thought of by some as the first science fiction novel, and an important work of horror too, the concept of this story is prevalent in pop-culture. The idea for this book was born from an evening of ghost stories & subsequent competition between Mary, Percy Bysshe Shelley and Lord Byron on who could write the best horror story.
